if you have the space, get a sump, being 2 main reasons:- 1) increase in water volume 2) hide unsightly equipment

there are several tank makers in the market.. Coral Reef Aquarium, Iwarna, N30, Aquarium Artist etc.... do survey before you commit.

do check on your overflow box size before you build one. You may not be able to fit a durso pipe due to space constraints.

in fact i'm planning to stock corals first then follow by fish... fish probably will come in another 1-2 months time meanwhile, will start sourcing for corals.. muhahahaha

sure mate. Next trip i will bring in more to share with the bros here.. FYI both acrylic acclimatization boxes cost me less than $20 (small one less than 10 bucks) in total. I'm not too sure if it's cheap or expensive, but i'm pretty sure it's value for money. Love the design.

Just back from China and bought several acrylic products. Bought a couple of breeder boxes (one big one small) for acclimatizing fish. Good quality, nice workmanship and cheap. The bracket holder of the breeder boxes. Also bought a tools holder.. to organize ur tweezer, scrappers or whatever..

sorry peeps.. nothing much to shout about my tank at this stage... 1 month of cycling.. tank still empty except: 1) 2 blue-leg hermit crabs in the DT to clean the algae on rocks (they did a wonderful job) 2) several snails and sand dollar in the sump tank to keep the glass clean (hopefully) 3) added a torch coral to test the water (been a week so far so good) other than the above, tank still empty haha.

today my chiller is abnormal. Temperature have been staying at 26.8C for more than 6 hours !! Chiller temperature is set at 26.5C Then i realize that my room temperature is only 27C... i hope everyday the room temperature is like that...

I'm using Tunze 6055 + controller on my 2ft tank. Just nice ! Let's put the durability aside, WP25 is value for money. If you ask me to choose between Tunze and Vortech, my vote goes to Tunze

you are right man. It stopped at 7.40pm at the temperature of 26.9C. Now, after 1 hour is still 27C. I guess it can last for another 1 hour before it starts to kick in. By the way, it will kick in at 0.5C rise? not 1C?

i'm not sure. first time using Artica. but it can last for about 2 hours.

Bro, i T-off from a 4000L return pump, so is just agak agak.. i guess is around 1500-2000L.

Just want to find out more from you guys. What's your chiller running time ? Wanna see if my chiller is working at an optimum condition. My Artica 1/5 hp is running on a 250 litres tank. Temperature set at 27C. Chiller will kick in at 27.5C. Run about 30min to bring down to 27C. Using LED, 33W return pump and a 11-W skimmer, 9W wavemaker. I feel that the running time is a bit long.. not sure if the water flow is too high or low. What about you guys? Please share. Thank you.

yep.. should be a rbta - rose/red bubble tip anemone. Price is usually few times higher compared to green bta. this specimen looks a bit bleached to me. try to feed them more often.

wah lau ehhhhh only 2 weeks of cycling... still have 4 more weeks to goooooo.... no major development at this stage. No diatom /algae outbreak yet despite the light was on for about 3-4 hours daily... can see pods now.
