The DAN Standard Plan offers coverage for medical charges for decompression illness (DCI), which includes both arterial gas embolism (AGE) and decompression sickness (DCS) sustained on a dive or a Repetitive Dive Series to a maximum depth of 40 metres. This plan provides US$45,000 coverage for hyperbaric fees, physicians and medical supplies used in the treatment of DCI. The DAN Master Plan provides US$125,000 coverage for medical charges for decompression illness and all covered in-water injuries) sustained on a dive or a Repetitive Dive Series to a maximum depth of 50 metres. The Master Plan also offers up to US$10,000 in accidental death and dismemberment benefits resulting from a covered Diving Accident; plus up to US$10,000 (Australian residents) or US$15,000 (non-Australian residents) in permanent total disability benefits arising from a covered Diving Accident. The DAN Preferred Plan provides US$250,000 coverage for medical charges a Diving Accident. The Preferred Plan also offers up to US$10,000 in accidental death and dismemberment benefits resulting from a covered Diving Accident; plus up to US$10,000 (Australian residents) or US$15,000 (non-Australian residents) in permanent total disability benefits from a covered Diving Accident sustained on a dive to any depth, provided that the Member held appropriate certification for the dive, and was using appropriate breathing gas mixes and equipment during the dive or Repetitive Dive Series. So the question is: a. In case of AGE/DCS, what is the cost like for compression chamber, heli evac, hospital, etc? is US45K/US125K/US250K enough? If you think you are going to really remote dive site the cost maybe higher. b. For death & dismemberment, DAN coverage is secondary coverage. After any other coverage you may have, DAN pays up to 100 percent of reasonable and customary costs of all remaining eligible expenses. So looks like for recreational diver Standard Plan is all you need.

Since you are going to Tioman, here is what I suggest you bring.. a. Sun tan lotion b. A baseball cap c. Sun glass d Epoxy Glue e. Super Glue f. Medication oil The sun tan lotion for your skin protection against the sun. Baseball cap and sun glass makes you look good. The epoxy and super glue will be use to put the broken acro frag on the live rocks. You will have to carry those expose Crocea clams to deeper water. This are heavy rocks. Also move the acro colonies and staghorns to a safer area. The medication oil will be use to rub those aching muscles after a hard day's work.

AT, you need to know the tank statistics of reefers in Singapore... I can only name a one or two reefers (yr potential customer) whose tank is bigger than 5 feet... and has lot's of space to put the skimmer. It is definitely a good skimmer and at a very good price.

I thought it is a product Tanzy is selling. Anti-cancer pills of some sort.

Tioman visibility is improving compare to the last update reported by Lona (5m). Visibility is from 7 - 10m last weekend. Weather was fantastic last weekend. Sunny and cloudy all the time. Surf was small. I did not dive as I have to take care of my family during their snorkelling session. I was at Salang Beach during the lowest tide. I walk around the edge of the beach to find plenty of live corals. I saw plenty of Crocea clams from small tiny ones to a palm size clams as usual stuck to a rock. Colourful hues of the mantle really attracted me. I even lifted a few up for close examinations. Some of them are even expose to the air during low tide. Same goes to the acros and staghorns. Acros are a plenty. I picked up a a foot long acro colony. Boy! that would cost $200+ if purchased. Saw other corals like finger corals, leather corals, carpet anemone, table acro, staghorns, etc. All corals are left where they belong! In the sea... How I wish.......

All Stingray big or small if not properly cut will have the ammonia taste. There is a technique to cut the stingray. When you cut the stingray, NEVER break the bladder. Once the bladder breaks, it is a waste. The problem with big stingray, you can't use a scissors to cut the portion surrounding the bladder. They use axe. Thus, you may accidentally cut or blown the bladder. My fishing kaki was there when they brought up the stingray. The tattoed guy took 45 minutes taking turn with other angler to fight and bring it up. Imagine bringing the monster up from a jetty? Stingray are aplenty on many sandy bottom area of Singapore. East coast all the way to Changi Naval base are reclaimed land thus got plenty of sandy bottom. With the proper bait and knowledge of the sandy bottom terrain, you can get lucky to land any size stingray.

I knew you get from Richmond, you had the same dive bag as mine. Apollo Bio Regulator. Say goodbye to dry air. Anyway, I haven't got it yet. Just love to have moist air during a dive. I hate dry air. Keep my mouth dry and difficult to swallow saliva. During the last dive, I keep coughing under water.
