  1. What vt_snowman87 mentioned is any credit card or even your ATM card. I don't think they will scratch. Of course, you should use those already expired or cancelled card.
  2. CFOh, you are helpful and always with photos.. Almost all posting of your LFS stocks come with photo...
  3. I think IWARNA charges are higher than $50 for water change for a typical 3x2x2 tank with sump even though location is near. I had a friend in Punggol was quoted around $80. (similar to what Ketchup mentioned). Location wise, I don't think Punggol is considered too far to IWARNA.
  4. Does tangs eat them? I used to have a small 2"x2" patch. Somehow it disappear after 1 week when I am on holiday. During the week, tank is on auto-feeder but feed quantity is at minimum to sustain them only. Got the feeling my yellow and blue tang ate them up...
  5. In general, what CFOh say is true. But in our tank with the abundance food supply, these shrimps are LAZY!!! Only snatching food from corals during feeding time.
  6. Yes... commonly refered as betta box or isolation box in our forum.. Cost slightly more than $10. I had it for use in the main tank. But can't fix into my sump. so i had the basket for the sump
  7. I don't have a QT but for had another "holding tank". I use a suitably size basket and with styrofoam tied near the top edges to ensure that the edge is slightly above water. This is put into my sump as a holding tank and used as and when needed. Be it for new fish or for fish caught to be sold, etc. Sometimes it even act as a temporary tank for my sun corals when i need to "train" them. Lastly the basket must fit into your sump!
  8. From the website, seems that the model is an upgraded one as it claims.. Not too sure how the upgrade is done though. For those round models, do take note if you need a feeder pump. Additional pump draws power, else you either go for a single pump that does both or go for gravity feed.
  9. The new series of Deltec skimmers are very power efficient, eg APF800. But then, the price is much more... However if you are looking for Hang-on skimmers, not many out there that beats the performance of MCE600. From sponsor's website: MCE600 Air Intake: 300 L/hr Power Consumption: 19 watts High Stocking 450 Liters (100 gallons) Normal Stocking 700 Litres (155 gallons) APF 800 Power consumption - 12 Watt Airflow - 600 litre/h High stocking 800 litres Normal stocking 1000 litres
  10. Hello Alvin, Hope this pair royal gamma survive in your tank. Yours ex-gamma living happily in my tank now.. To raxhephon, May i know what size is your Fire Shrimp?
  11. Thanks.. Learnt something new again..
  12. The way i read the 3W is total power consumption 3W which means is 1W per LED.. Not sure if I am correct..
  13. Is it a coco worm? Cos the "feather" structure look more like a coco-worm. Only the structure of the tube can tell, as in it is hard or soft tube? But be is tube or coco worm, this colour is nice and uncommon.
  14. Hi CFOh, Actually I am curious why you need specifically TLF Phosban Reactor FR? Other brand of FR does not work as good? Cos I am thinking to try out TLF Phosban Phosphate remover in future in my current (Adv Reef) FR.
  15. Seems that you have a soft spot for PBT. Saw your previous tank thread, 1 of the first inhabitants is a PBT. By the way, you are having a 2ft tank now or larger than that? Oh yes, CF have them... By the way, anyone knows if CF has stock of those small red legged hermit? In addition, is the sea hare at CF still available? I regret not buying 1 during my last trip.
  16. Good to know how will your 250W MH compared to LED. Guess you should be keeping all parameters similar for an accurate comparsion. I do hear from 1 SPS reefer (from CCK) that he changed from MH to LED then back to MH for some similar reason. Hopefully they can share in this thread..
  17. Not only scaping, and if you are placing equipment below the the tank is another challenge. Got to look for 1 feet width size equipment (especially skimmer) to support your 6 feet tank (equivalent volume maybe only 3 feet tank). The effective width minus the door and allowance might be even smaller. Do take note of this before finalizing your plan.
  18. WTT about 1 desert tub size chaeto for 1 bottle of Minute Maid Orange. Self collection at my block at CCK ave 3. Priority given to those that can collect by this weekend.
  19. Somehow since yesterday, my viewing of the thread in the forum is change to CENTER from ALIGN LEFT. I couldn't find where to change it back. Can any1 advise? Thanks.
