  1. Hi Jacky and kksg2000 and anyone who can advise me., Saw this thread and found that both of you had chiller in cabinet. Mine too. Just want to check which fan are you using? AC or DC fan? Size of fan? Reason is i am planning for 1 too as can't kept my cabinet door open for too long (had a 2yr kid at home) In addition, what temperature to set for the chiller? Previous owner set at 26.5deg and it kick in at around 27deg(i think).. Its a Arctica 1/5HP chiller. Thanks for any help.
  2. Nice overflow concept. I miss this tank on the 1st day.. luckily got CFOh post pic..
  3. Came back from IMM this morning.. Unless you had time to spare else Sat or Sun should be better.. kill 2 birds with 1 stone Reef Depot, Aquarium Artist, RO/DI system by Gary (MASS), QianHu and 1 more sponsor with 7 feet tank (forgot the name) is there.
  4. Any kind of alcohol based solvent will remove the stain. Those thinner, acetone that use for paint removal will do the job also but need to be careful not to contaminate your tank water if there is. Just be careful will do.
  5. oh oh... can spare me your "kids" once you promote to "father". I love sun corals... I had 3 colonies of Super Sun.. wanted to get more Supersun or normal sun also can.. but worried about my water parameters from the feeding. Let see how it goes..
  6. +2 I always soak my 2nd hand eqpt in water, fresh water in fact, to eliminate the risk of chemicals residing on them when kept in storeroom... For the live rocks maybe salt water would be even better.. can soak in them after your water change routine. Save $$..
  7. Hi Steven, Wondering why are you selling off so soon. Upgrading to longer Maxspect or DIY LED or to MH? Just curious.. Anyway, thanks for the loan of Jerry Can again.. To answer Solo77, Steven stay in Woodlands, ~15min from Admiralty MRT.
  8. cleaner wrasse best left in the wild..
  9. Any reefers know where to custom-make a light stand for a hanging 3ft light fixture that sit on top of the tank? Can be done either PVC pipe or aluminum bar. Just want to know the contact and also the cost as i am not good at DIY. Thanks a lot.
  10. I think Bro Wilson also meant that does the exhibition accept donations in terms of money? When it comes to accounts, it can get quite complicated as it involve not only SRC but MASS as well... My 2cents worth..
  11. I want to bid but will be overseas till 9th Aug..
  12. Hi bro, the last time (at least 5 yrs ago) i went, the shop should have the list of (brilliant rose) diamonds even in other outlets. You got to ask them. Unless you want to compare the actual piece, then it a different story. Actually in my opinion, size(carat) and colour should be more important than clarity and cut. Reason it because the later 2 (clarity and cut need microscope to see) cannot be differentiate by our naked eye and the price difference is huge if later 2 is in good grade. Of course only if your girlfriend don't mind. Something that i tried hard to convince.
  13. Some house (like mine) the MCB is at 30A for living room while the bed room is at 20A. For example, MCB for living room is at 30A. It means all electrical applicances in the living room should not exceed 30A of usage. However, the TS concern is the individual socket which is limited by the 13A plug as mentioned by Goondoo, not by the MCB. Thus all applicances to the socket (thru the extension cord) should not exceed 13A. Not to worry though, so long total power does not exceed ~2800W should be fine (based on Power = Volts x Current). Any electrical guy to confirm if my AC power calculation is correct? Cos i based on my previous knowledge from school.
  14. Thanks.. now i feel more assured. Any more bro using external like bro onizuka? Wanna get more feedback.
  15. Thanks bro. If using pipe to suck the water up to the pump. Does it restart the suction automatically after turning off the power and the inlet drained of water? Or we need to full the inlet pipe with water again? I am not keen of the idea of using hole and silicon as there is the risk of leakage...
  16. Any bro here running their ehiem pump externally out of the water? I am thinking to do it this way to minimise the heat to the tank water, but will it reduce the lifespan? My tank is still in the planning stage.

    Wire of AC power

Should not be a problem.. It just like an extension cord where a single point is branch out to many sockets. Just make sure the (colour) wires are correct (else you might trip the breaker). Also make sure the wires connection is secure.
  18. Absolutely correct. Less time for the leftover food to pollute the water is you skim it out fast enough.
  19. You keep it with air pump for 5 years?? Your home must be very big to miss it. Normally I wont miss my stuff if I keep it in my storeroom or some small items that is hiding somewhere. But this is a pail with air pump somemore.. But again, sometimes we will also buy things thinking will be used in future but end up its there and still intact. I had a NEW and several 2nd hand SEIO wavemakers still in my storeroom.
  20. 5 kilo newton per square meter = 5000N/m2 = 500kg/m2 1m2 = 10.76 square feet thus 5 kilo newton per square meter = 46.5kg/sq feet
  21. I normally cull dying fish by putting into a tau hua tub with tank water and put into freezer. I think this is the least painful death in my opinion.
  22. Bro, does your tank comes with a cabinet?
  23. You guys are really experts... I am always impressed!! when everytime people can ID corals & fishes.. somemore down to geographical category.
  24. Sure.. Will PM you if still needed.. Great SRC people out there..
