You can saw off the dead portion - maybe you leave abit of clearance about 1cm -- just to be on safe side as mime is branch type not like yours.. .. I have saw off quite a few pieces already.. now one of them initially left with 1 to 2 cm of polyp have 2 new branches and another one with 5 branches now with 9 branches.. i agree partially with you that it is 2 different issue. but it looks to me the owner think that this guy frag it and ask him so to the owner it looks like the same issue. Asking is just to masquerade his pilfering... So the 2 issue become one to the shopowner. Those who ask for frags - Don't flame me .... I am just trying to put some logic into everything.

One bad thing I notice is the water get hot pretty fast ... even though it is 20K lighting .... becasue the general perception is that a 20k bulb have less par so we tend to lower the lighting to the surface of the water and the heat emit is the same as a 10K bulb (only slight difference ). My chiller switches on and off like nobody's business. Anway, I am testing it out what is the difference ... may switch back to 150 W DE one day.
