  1. 3 - 5 drps/ sec is slow. Mime is a constant flow. You might want to check your input pressure. I used to have the same problem.
  2. Yes , why not - use denitrators and heavy phosphate removers and biweekly water change.
  3. Saw 2 of these ghost pipefish in the reborn's tank - the one facing the entrance. Heard from a friend who saw one of these rare ghost pipefish during his diving trip in manado - the temp of the water was about 22 degrees.
  4. Just wondering whether we can use those energy saving bulb eg. 20W = 100 watt type compact lamp. I mean those with color temp of 6k to 6.5 k. Maybe put about 5 bulbs in there and compliment it with a 20K MH.
  5. Interested in the orange yuma. Let me know when can collect.
  6. Hi folks, I was thinking about getting a t610 also unitl I read about some issue about this phone: 1) surface stretch easily 2) signal strength always in sos call mode 3) processor very slow 4) cannot read until bright sunlight Don't mistaken I am just trying to get some opinion on the above issue - as I m not sure whether it is true. i heard T630 is coming out next yr with better screen display and faster processor. Anybody any comments
  7. I have the same problem when I bought my lemon peel angel. Just like what morgan said - feed it with live brine shrimp first. And then slowly move to frozen brine shrimp and then to flakes. Usu these fishes also tend to imitate the rest of the fishes if your other fish do take in flakes then there is a high chance that it will imitate the rest of the fishes to take in flakes. Hope this helps
  8. Cuke are not dangerous but when provoke will spit out its own guts or emit the venom when die and that can be dangerous because it could wipe out your entire tank with its poison. Sounds dangerous huh ! But this is a relatively safe species which is why I bought it. Unless your sand is not mature and devoid of food which will starve it to death. The reason I am selling it is because I wish to change my maintenance strategy. rdgs
  9. It will basically filter your sand. It will take up little creatures in your sandbed and helps turn your sand bed a little so you must make sure your sand bed is mature before you starve it to death. Hope this helps.
  10. I have a tiger tail sea cucumber for sale - selling at $ 13 . size about 2.5 inch - fully stretch to about 4 to 5 inch. Color - light orange and white. rdgs
  11. I used a mini saw to saw it off because mime was a fairly thick branch - just make sure the saw is clean not rusty.
  12. Not quite sure about the quality of the water from our tap. As far as I know, whenever I do a water change, I always have a slight diatom bloom. I observed many times before I come to this conclusion. I am using tropic Marin salts - might be from the salts also. I understand that different location yield different level of minerals in the water. Used to know a friend who works with PUB, you will be surprise with what you could find in the strorage tank on the top of the HDB flat - bird shit , even dead rats (was told not sure whether it is true especially rats is hard to find nowsaday ). But my RO/DI unit finally arrive.
  13. Don't bother looking at the equipment if they are imported products - they are definitely more ex. Almost wanted to buy a chiller form there but the pirce is 10 to 20 % more expensive.
  14. Yes probably no one is available to take care of my livestock.
  15. Thinking of getting a Autofeeder but not sure which brand is reliable after hearing stories about food got jam and stuff like that. Anybody have any recommendation. Reeally.... really desperate to get one cause flying off to Japan in about a week or 2. Thx in advance.
  16. Pretty racequeen Nice car but I already have one tank to scrub off those algae & diatom - i don't wish to have car to scrub
  17. Been reefing since 1976 - father son influence. Learn the hardway. gave up after 2 years later. Re-enter the hobby around 10 years later - caught a puffer from the Labrador seaside - manage to keep it healthily for about 3 years (length was 3 cm when caught) . Due for NS - no time to keep anything - release the puffer back labrador seaside (length has grown to 3 inches ). Still learning.
  18. Wah...this wish list is getting WILD I wish I could have a underwater house paranomic view of all livestock with dophins and manta rays !!
  19. This is the current trend. Step 1) Cut workers pay - Top management' pay intact with bonus, workers encourage to work harder to drive up revenue Step 2) Retrench worker - Top management' pay intact with bonus, worker doing 2 person' job with 1 person's pay Step 3) Retrench more worker - Top management'pay intact with bonus Step 4) Hire worker with miserable pay - Top managment's pay intact. Top management start scratching their heads - they are the next target
  20. For normal glass, a 10mm glass should suffice. Then what is the thickness for a normal 4ft x 2ft x 2.5ft tank using low iron glass ?
  21. The way to find out if your membrane or filter needs any replacement is to buy a TDS meter - something like a probe which measure the DI water. It should be near zero reading if the reading shows a signicant number then you need to replace your filters, usu the membrane last longer about 2 -3 years. It doesn't matter whether it is opaque or transparent - I doubt you could check via the container appearance
  22. I am using one ES6-1. Pretty good I would say. You get what you pay for. the one I have is a 100 gal unit. The skimate is really thick like hot fudge but the skimmer is abit dependent on water level as it is not stated anywhere. I was abit disappointed when i first got it becasue my sump level fluctuate for my case and I have to rectify the problem. So make sure you have about 10 to 12 inch of water where you placed your skimmer. hope this helps
  23. How much did you pay for the tank and cabinet ? what are the spec ?
