  1. I am also keen to know .... perhaps could check with our malaysian reefers ...
  2. It is a predator bro ... I am sure you don't want to wake up one morning and find your precious tangs and angel disapearing I saw it at Pasir ris also ..... a friend of mime also interested .. went back but too late .... exported.
  3. Interesting concept about Sonoluminescence - probably one day it will can be used in our skimmer. http://wc0.worldcrossing.com/WebX?14@21.AW...y3I.0@.1dde6b71 And no need to waste so much electricity in skimmer also.
  4. http://www.rotiprata.net/images/funny.wmv http://www.trance-tech.com/vids/WickedMoments.wmv What a song ..... killing me softly with this *%## ** voice Like the barbie girl song ... damn good ....... The yellow short guy .... gone case man
  5. Yup - they are all orange ones - have a pair in fact and i think the female one is even carrying eggs ...have taken out one hairy ones some time back... didn't know they could devour at such a speed - thanks chris for hightlighting
  6. Like what others suggest - get Salifert or maybe Tropic Marin test kit both are quite reliable.
  7. Today I noticed something very interesting on those acros crabs - they are eating the slime from the sps corals .... probably the slime are trapping alot of food... thank god ... I didn't murder those buggers ...
  8. Victorp, Any updates on your circuitry ... looks good on the info you have provided ....might be thinking to DIY one for myself ..
  9. Kept for about 1 1/2 years ... got only 6 branches when first bought it .. now it has about 10 to 12 branches ... taking too much precious real estate .. Size is about 12 x 6 inches when fully open.. Letting go at 30 bucks. Will post a photo tomorrow ...as the fella is Zzzzz ..
  10. Sigh.. .. he doesn't look like he is in the mood to play the second game with Pak. The shots look so casual like friendly match ..I thought I was watching a game with one person playing .... pak dive here ...dive there ...and our dear hero gave all the point away with offside shots .....I think he lost his form - can be better.
  11. If it is just soft coral - dont bother with other parameter - just go get ammonia, nitrite and nitrate testkit and measure .. -- the first 2 must be zero .. the last one ....debatable .... but at best not more than 10 ppm as soome coral can't take high nitrate. Good luck
  12. The only good associate with the word "French" - French Kiss ... French Fries .... At the end of the day - if you want reliability - don't even look at european cars ... Did a survey the number one cars most prone to failure are 1) SAAB 2) Volvo ... 3) BM ... puegoet ... renault and citroen ...are of the same categories .. nice to see but lot of minor problems after the second and third year. The Puegoet 307 looks good, after 2 years you will discover the brakes doesn't kick in so neatly ... and acceleration not as smooth at least this is what my friend told me after getting a brand new 307 .... they have many awards also ... so beware ... every cars always claimed that they have this awards and they have that awards ... but it is mainly marketing talks. Even StarAuto - is giving up trying to support puegoet becasue there too many freaking problem (or have they given up alraedy - not sure of the latest ) ... I know a few guys working in ST engineering getting 10 % discount for all puegoet cars ... they chose japanese cars nevertheless. For your info only, of all european cars , the benz is the only cars that you can obtain the uncommon parts locally and reliability without any delay becasue the headquarter is in Singapore, otherwise prepared to wait 2 to 3 months..... this is what i know so far from a friend from Diamler Chrysler. Of course there are good things with the Euro cars - it is up to you to find out
  13. If maintenance is not a issue. Just a word of advice - go for shallow sand bed with more live rock instead and bigger size gravel like grade 1 or above - siphon the detritus from the sand bed 2 to 3 times a week. You should be relatively safe. Happy reefing dude
  14. My friend bought a nissan praire with a LCD panel build in FOC .....how about that
  15. Will look fantastic with such a depth provided you have thought of the maintenance otherwise i think 28 inch is the best height . Anyway if you are able to maintain such a depth - we would very much like to leverage on your knowledge on how you do it. Wah how come so many people got marine tank as a gift .... will it really be a gift or a curse
  16. I used to have a 10 litres tank ... I tested out the tolerance level without changing water - the max is 2 weeks .... you need to change 30 percent of the water every week to be on the safe side, for 2 weeks without changing water you are already threading on a very thin line. All my fishes went to St. Peter after 2 weeks plus. I gave up finally and place a 20 litres sump tank to support the system. I have sinced teard down the tank, though the corals and fishes were flourishing healthily. It was a enjoyable experience. For coral tank, a water change every week seems to be inevitable as well. Monitor the Ammonia & nitrite and then your nitrate. Good luck to your nano.
  17. I have come across a scientific report that RTN will spread if left in the same water -- the best is to partial change water if there is a major RTN event and then remove the coral to other Quarantine tank if possible.
  18. I just picked up this mag and read when i was at aquamarin -pretty good contents ... but I didn't buy ... some of them ... quite cheam ....I read abit ... and find some of them too scientific (if there is such a term) --- might dozed off if I continue reading ... reminded me of my text books in the Uni days.
  19. That's why the whole game all drop-shots .... must be freaking boring for Lin Dan ..so that she can't smack ...
  20. There are other more alternatives you can try - this guy from RC did some kind of support on the glass panel at the back - i presume he actually silicon some kind of glass to hold the rock in mid water.. pretty interesting Just another concept ..... I am also exploring other than using egg crates and PVC pipes ..
  21. Not only meals --- no bed ... no house ...
  22. I used to feed my fishes with market prawns in my old tank very very long time ago about 8, 9 years back ... and my tank was plague with whiteworms .... it was a torture during then ... i removed all the liverocks and clean my entire tank still ... the worms exists ...... only recently I realised that the worms are coming from the stuff I got from the market and i fed it to the fishes ... I stumble upon this fact becasue I had another friend who encounter the same thing while doing that.. During then when I realised that my tank was heavily plague by those worms, furthermore internet wasn't popular, i gave up marine for awhile becasue I was about to be enlisted to the army . So I couldn't really gave you the proper advice.. You should stop feeding wif raw stuff from the market and replace them with pellets or maybe frozen Brineshrimp ...or if you need to make sure they are clean with maybe warm water .....perhaps freezing them before feeding might help ..
