Bought it from LCK after... it is very small though but it is growing fast. The favia is not in the best of state. i just want to post some pic before I do any upgrading. Yah the tunze was hell of a problem ... need to push the curent underneath the rockwork.

A few of the pieces - I bought them because they look not too bad but was dying.. the pale green lobo was orange in color when i bought it and a red moon acquired not too long was pale. A brown frog spawn was also dying about 2 years back. There is alot of sentiment for some of the corals when I see them recover from their dying state. Your comments are welcome.

fish feed from Japan ! Ice balls ( tiny ones) churning machine ! Sam's pet shop ! I went to the exhibition last year, was eyeing for some kind of food biz eg.old changkee but didn't really materialise as the market is too competitive and furthermore the franschise license is only open to location out of singapore. Met my old NS friend whom operate a franschisin consultancy biz. He is my buddy in the army - pretty close. Time to brainstorm cheers.

I made the same mistake when I forgot to check my chiller pump - switch it off but forgot to turn on. Luckily I spotted it in the morning - feeling puzzled why temp reaches 30 degrees. You can save on anything but not this fail safe device - temp controller. It is better you add one to switch off all lighting system when temp reaches 29 degrees. As thousands of dollars will evaporate in just one day if your lighting continue to blast your tank - unless your maid act as your temp controller. I did just that to have more peaceful sleep in the night

It depends on a few factor : 1) What are you keeping ? SPS - T5 or MH LPS - T5 or MH Fish only - normal FL will do. 2) What is your tank depth. > 2 ft SPS - definitely need 250 watt for MH at least. LPS - 150 watt MH generally will do, 250 watt might be good if it is a deep tank. Fish only - doesnt really matter. < 2ft SPS - 150 watt (bare min.) 250 watt (will be better) LPS - 150 watt Fish Only - dont bother - just FL will do. Generally there are other factor like the height from your bulb to the surface of the water - which is normally 30 cm but some place them like 10 to 15 cm away. My 2 cents.

That's why I said observed where they sleep in the night .... mime always sleep in the same place ... they won't change bed so often. Use a stick to poke them after that.

Still fiddling with my cam - no time to learn ... will post soon before my upgrade ... anyway the piece I have is the same piece Moronclown have in his tank ... I think got it in the same Iwarna shipment...

I felt that fish always look very stone in the night .... maybe still half asleep ... like I use to have a sunrise dotty ... i could even catch it with my bare hands ....
-
Remember most fishes sleep in the night ....- attack before Dawn .... Good luck ..... When i caught mime .... half my life almost gone ....3 times I caught it but it jumps over the acrylic barrier I have setup using acrylic to isolate the fish to 1/4 of my tank. Observe where it is resting during the night - probably in some crevice in your rock - cover the entrance (maybe with a transparent container or net) and use a stick to agitate the fish so that it will swim right into your container. Happy counter-striking

To Love - means taking pain to prune relationship ..just like what we did to those frags ... Love ...just like KH level ...never stagnate ..... either it is going up or going down ...

You can try to remove one piece and see if you could break the bubble using a separate container of course ... valonia algae can be quite hard ... if it is use foxface to control it.

FYI, Algae cannot grow without nitrate. If you have PO4 and without nitrate .. algae cannot grow at all but from my personal encounter, I think our system must be able to convert the nitrate fast enough.... which explains why sometimes in our tank though zero nitrate but still see some algae growing ... These are my personal views.

For the past week, i saw one of my milli with this white stuff on the coral skeleton.. It is buried into the skeleton. I dig them out and it reveal only the coral skeleton... the length varies .... 1 to 1.5 cm and 3 of the branch affected .. the portion feels soft when i dug them out with a pincer ... it doesn't look like flat worms to me as I use to have flat worms last time ... I have since dug them out in a quarantine area and place the coral back to the tank monitor if it gets worse ... but it definitely look like it is eating into the coral skeleton.. Anybody encounter the same thing ?

Color turning to Pink while PO4 is almost 1
surfedelic replied to minsmarine's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
FYI, to reduce your algae growth you need to get below 0.03 ppm preferably 0.01 ppm of course the lower the better but if you hit 0.03 ppm expect to see some algae.... 5 gm of your fish feed is enough to raise your PO4 by 0.1 ppm - so you can imagine why it is dificult to control if there are lots of LS. -
can some one tell me..
surfedelic replied to kelvin1976's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
i can't agree with you any better ... looks like it doesn't sound right -
Just buy garlic capsule from any pharmacy - just use a needle burst the capsule and squeeze the juice out.

The coral so so only ... no exotic stuff .. but the prices of the coral are cheaper - that's my personal view.

What to look out for in Chatuchat (thailand)
surfedelic replied to typrobin's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Nothing much to buy over there ...consider the fact that over here we have everything .... unless it is product made in Thailand. Look out for those arapaima fish - this guy is ban in singapore ... it can grows to a size of a normal sedan ... very small fish ... about 300 sing ... though you can't buy .. but it is an eye-opener ... i think Singapore zoo have this fish ..my thai friends love this fish very much ... visit some of the shopping centre and you maybe able catch them in a tank in some of them. Their waist can be twice your waistline
