  4. erm.. i would not suggest to put SH in the sump. It must have a depth of 2.5 times it's uncurl length... if not, it will be super stress
  5. Looks small in this pict. Can advice on the size? Thanks
  6. Greetings from Singapore n I'm sure you are most welcome here. Love your horses. Wonderful pictures too
  7. And also, do watch out the direction of the wood grain. I can't see from the picture
  8. Can I suggest something? The horizontal beams is not strong if u mount it this way. Is better if it is sited onto the vertical beam.
  9. No, bro Mini-reefer. we will not be a "seahorse" one day or any other creatures. Rather, we will meet our creator, i.e. Jesus. He came as a Saviour on His first coming(Christmas) and His second coming in the near future, He will come as a judge. I parallel my experience in reefing with my life. this way, i can keep reminding myself not to be proud and how fragile life is. of all the reefing experience I had, I learned the most from the seahorses.
  10. yes alex, all living things has life span even in a consistently good water condition tank. i'm sure mine has lived and will live a good old age in captivity. keeping sea shores has been a life lesson for me, a perfect reminder that life is short. It hit me real hard when my father has passed away recently. never has someone so close to me met death. It has been a long time I last cried. But deep down, i know he is in heaven with Jesus. no more pain, no more machines to keep him breathing, no more "ice kacang" pills to eat, no more rainbow colors liquid to swallow. And the best thing is..... I WILL see him one day when is my turn to go.
  11. is not difficult if u factor in ich. ich does not affect them. but there are other parameters you need to know. you can read it in my post or this link below http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles/SeahorseFactsAndInfo.shtml also, do remember they do not have stomach. so feeding has to be constant. do have a tank depth of about 2.5 times the length of the uncurl seahorse. they are slow swimmers, so do wash ur hands and play with them in the water. ^___^
  12. Just a thought. Earth moves every now and then. Could this be it that is y it snap? What will be your safety precaution to ensure your tank will not leak?
  13. It will be good to get healthy fish. Still a good practice to QT before releasing it to the main tank. Will save u lots n lots of heart break n work. Especially when u have fishes u love in the future swimming in your dream tank
  14. thats great. it will have more choses for food. ^^ Jia u. Hope that you have fun with it. you can cultivate pods in another tank.. i did it in my sump. haha...
  15. Thank u. Hope u hv much fun n joy too in your reefing experience.
  16. Use aluminum alloy. Aluminum corrode too easily. U may wan to rust prove ur window frame n tank frame. Btw, black absorbs heat. Use white facing out n black the other side. Using sunlight is better than any lighting but I foresee is u may hv lots of algae issue. So may hv to look into it.
  17. put a walking transparent panel as pool cover..^^ reduce evaporation.
