  1. Haha I can't recall that. Are you still keeping that small fiji sps coral?
  2. Great to see you here ahwoei! Interesting remark by you on having better colours compared to your experience with the zeovit system.
  3. Use a couple of lumenarc reflectors and get one of the sponsors here to build a fixture for you,
  4. Personally, I second the opinion that a combo of MH + T5 provides the best combination of good growth and colouration for an SPS dominated tank. The MH bulbs I prefer would be 14kk Hamiltons and 20kk Radium.
  5. I have an 8-inch tall a. echinata colony (aussie waters) and after a few relocations in my tank, I find it prefers a mid to high level position on my rockscape, turbulent flow but not as demanding of it compared to the likes of its Australian cousins A.spathulatha and strawberry shortcake (A. microclados) and lighting with a bluish spectrum. Typical SPS coral requirements i.e. stable dkh levels, clean water, etc naturally apply. On a side note, australian SPS corals regardless of species are more demanding of clean and stable conditions compared to their Indonesian counterparts.
  6. You have a wonderful collection of montiporas. Regarding a. Echinatas in particular those from Australian waters, they have a preference for 20kk lighting and are docile corals in contrast to more invasive acropora species such as a. Millepora and a. Yomgei.
  7. That depends on what sort of corals you are keeping. More elaboration would be useful for any suggestions.

  9. Only lps and softies. I also bought an amazing looking chalice but that piece was not from this shipment.
  10. Great LPS shipment. I got an orange goniopora and a pink sun goniopora from Shan. The link below shows what a pink sun gonio looks like - its a beaut! http://www.cherrycorals.com/product.php?productid=14576
  11. Excellent progress on a well designed tank. The health and growth of your sps corals are a testament to your abilities and care.
  12. Based on reefers' anecdoctal experience (and also mine), the green Goniopora Stokesi have a higher mortality rate compared to the red ones of other species. My green gonio stokesi lasted less than a year until only a bare skeleton remained.
  13. Check out some of the pics I posted of my chalices in the previous pages Will look for a few more small pieces as my reef journey into chalices go along.
  14. Thanks for the compliments to all On a side note, half of my zoanthids were wiped out by an unknown predator (I suspect it was a black crab which I caught with a plastic bottle trap). Pretty upset about that incident and I proceeded to sell or give away most of my remaining zoas. Now I only have a few tiny patches of zoas left in my tank. I proceeded to fill some of the empty space left by my zoas with a few chalices hence they have become a new found love for me
  15. Thanks for the kind words, admiraltian.
  16. Red gonioporas are fairly common and a variety of the goniopora species have red variations. I have three (one of which is not in my pics) of which they are Goniopora stutchburyi, Goniopora burgosi and Goniopora palmensis. The more common green type is Goniopora stokesi which is far more difficult to cultivate in a captive system compared to other species.
