I have an 8-inch tall a. echinata colony (aussie waters) and after a few relocations in my tank, I find it prefers a mid to high level position on my rockscape, turbulent flow but not as demanding of it compared to the likes of its Australian cousins A.spathulatha and strawberry shortcake (A. microclados) and lighting with a bluish spectrum.
Typical SPS coral requirements i.e. stable dkh levels, clean water, etc naturally apply.
On a side note, australian SPS corals regardless of species are more demanding of clean and stable conditions compared to their Indonesian counterparts.
