  1. If you are using a refugium to cultivate macroalgae, do note that it has to be very sizeable (probably equal or even exceeding your display tank) before you see a marked reduction in PO4 levels. This also depends on the number of fishes and inverts that you keep. The more they are, the bigger the refugium will have to be.
  2. Interestingly, it has never bothered my fishes. I guess it has been feeding on detritus and leftovers and I did feed heavily. My tank is 3 feet long.
  3. I apologize for having no photos to show as they are pretty hard to capture nicely on camera but both specimens are in excellent condition having lived in my tank for 4 years.
  4. Still available. Bump. Price lowered to SGD225.
  5. Yellow tang for 45 dollars. Black Ocellaris Clownfish (misbar) for 65 dollars. PM me for collection details. I reside in Sengkang. Please bring along your own plastic bags or containers to transport the fish as I do not have any.
  6. Found a one metre long beauty in my tank Fortunately, I am shutting down my tank and discovered this mean baby meaning I won't have nightmares if the tank was still running. Anyone care to adopt an underwater centipede lookalike? Heh
  7. The chalice and pink, red and purple gonioporas have been sold. The green & orange gonio is still available.
  8. I will be shutting down my tank and will start a new one in the future. Hence, I have some livestocks to sell. All pieces have been in my tank for 3 years. PM me for collection details. Orange green chalice for 100 dollars (palm size) Orange and green goniopora for 80 dollars. Assorted red, pink and a single purple gonioporas. Take all 5 pieces for 150 dollars.
  9. Very interesting scape. How did you manage to balance all those rock pieces? Cable ties and epoxy?
  10. http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/bellion1973/media/Skimz_zpsfdwknupc.jpg.html Selling for SGD260. In perfect working condition and can skim any tank up to 500 gallons/2000 litres of water volume. PM me for deal closure and collection in Sengkang.
  11. Red planet is a hyacinthus? Interesting observation. Aren't the coralites more like a millepora or in some cases like a prostrata?
  12. My tank's dkh level is in the 6.5 to 7.5 range and most of my Acroporas have full polyp extension night and day. I believe it's due to my Zeovit/ Fauna Marin system coupled with coral feeding.
  13. I believe the forumers will learn from this shambles of a coral buying experience and exercise discretion before paying precious money for hyped up and fancifully named corals.
  14. White sps = bleached The white colour is the bleached coral's skeleton colour as its flesh has expelled all zooxanthallae and thus became transparent.
  15. The pic that firestarter has shown looks like an acropora microclados which is a shallow water, high light and strong water movement loving coral. Whoever claims that it is a deep sea species whatever that means is being deluded.
  16. Great to see a review on pacific sun t5 bulbs based on real life usage. I am using 2 pacific sun shallow water bulbs and 6 ATI bulbs and the colours have been good so far after 3 weeks of use. Will try their deep blue bulb once it is released for sale in December
  17. Good topic. I have slotted two new Pacific Sun shallow water bulbs into my lighting fixture with a current configuration of 5 ATI Blueplus bulbs, 2 Pacific Sun shallow water bulbs and 1 ATI Aquablue Special bulb. I am having thoughts of swapping the Aquablue special bulb for either a 3rd shallow water bulb or a spectra+.
  18. The folks at zeovit swear by the camel shrimp method and at least one of our local reefers is using it with effective results. A word of caution though, it is imperative to place camel shrimps in a beta box or in the sump tank to isolate them from the main display tank as they are not reef safe and may take a liking to your corals. As for my own biological methods, my peppermint hogfish actively hunt for worms and critters on the sps corals themselves and touch wood, I have not been inflicted with any major flatworm outbreaks in my tank since I set it up.
  19. Hello all, The sunset mille colony has been sold. Thanks for the support and all the interest. This thread can be closed.
  20. 5 inches in length selling for 45 dollars. First come first served basis. Collect at Sengkang. PM me for details. http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/bellion1973/media/sunset-millepora_zps0b4635e7.jpg.html'>
  21. $50 is the winning bid. Thank you for the support. Kindly contact me once you have received my phone number in your PM box.
  22. It is recommended to run Ultraphos in a fluidized reactor with a slow flow rate (despite its lack of tumbling due to its heavier nature) something akin to 200-400 lph. Was told so by Claude the Fauna Marin owner.
