  6. Not to mention nice resort, for potential "honeymooners". Clammy, do u have a nice pic of the resort to make us completely envious?
  7. This shop is very interesting. 1/2 the shop sells home ornaments and 1/2 the shop is the LFS. The standard of the set-up is pretty alright. All the SPS holding tanks have 500W MH and all tanks have Schuran skimmer and Teco chiller. I am no SPS reefer, but I think there were quite a few stunning pcs there. Worth taking a look.
  8. Err...Whyah? Are you the magistrate, nutx?
  9. Last year kenna caught 102km/h over 50km/h road. $750 +18 points.Still let the magistrate suan. My lawyer fren said:"My client would like to tell the court that on that day, he was rushing back to office due to a work related emergency" Magistrate never even look up:"Is he an ambulance driver?" 60km/h above speed limit, confirm kenna kan tong. So be careful. Very expensive....
  10. Here is the installed FR-STD. In it is contraphos. My FR is driven by an old 1048, which also feeds a calcium reactor from a tee-off.
  11. The top plate is machine to be quick release, which will make maintenance easier. Not to mentioned the very nicely cut acrylic and gluing workmanship! Will share more pics when I start this guy up.......
  12. And another picture, from the side:
  13. Juz picked up a new piece of equipment and wanted to share a few pics. It's a fluidized reactor from Reef Maniacs....
  14. Hi Creetin, Nice thread on your DIY project. Does the ballast, capacitor, ignitor come ready assembled in that black box or does that need to be self assembled too? Thx-Keith
  15. Always wanted to ask this question... What is the current understanding on the use of EDTA based calcium additive? Do they do more harm than good? Being a chelating agent, and seeing that it can binds so well with the metal ion, is there any clear evidence that the Ca is biologically available for the coral like some brands claim? I think the use of EDTA is gradually being frowned upon in process chemicals used in electronic manufacturing because it poses a health concern.
  16. Yoz, I got this about 3 months ago: 1. Aztech Ethernet modem ~98 2. Netgear 54G wireless router + card > 200+ (around there) My complaint is that my router is in my room and when I am in the hall, the line can sometime drop. (Normal flat size..)I suspect it is when too many neighbours have theirs on. I am not sure if I am asking for too much, but I tot at least 100ft should be ok. Also, for 1 month, I had a neighbour riding off my account (never set security). I am a jetpack user...luckily I detected it and remedied it.
  17. Yo Bro, Nice tank.....could I be the lucky recepient of your hammer frag? Are you using your calcium reactor?
  18. Here is a picture of the skimmate, kind of the same as what other people have posted. I used a 1060 to drive the venturi. Sometime skimming may stop, which I think might be due to the pump not being strong enough, especially with head loss along all that piping. I notice that Red Sea has come out with a needle wheel version of the Berlin Skimmer. Anyway, I just wanted to share my humble experiece on this pc of equipment.
  19. This skimmer served me well. But I want to point out 2 things I encountered: 1. The position of the inlet flow makes the placement of pump either: a) take up a long foot print in your sump or Put a series of elbows to take up a more squarish footprint (as shown) 2. If you pipe everything, it will make the maintenance of the venturi very difficult. Imagine taking out all the piping. Of course it isn't very often, but still if something got stuck inside.
  20. The meter on top is my pH meter. Doesn't come with the I~top, ar...
  21. WHERE TO GET You can get the I~top from Ian (I~Aqua, see SRC sponsors). COST @ $60 for a 20L version, looking at the detailing and the workmanship, I do not think the profit margin is high. Nonetheless, for the very budget conscious, it may be argued that it is too much for what can be functionally met by a pail. For the above mentioned factors, I am pretty happy and satisfied with it. My original plan was to put a reservoir in the cabinet, but real estate in the cabinet is a premium, and the I~Top looks good enough to place outside so that my cabinet is free for other purposes. Further, I support made in Singapore, DIY sponsors. Thanks, Ian.
  22. A shot of my level indicator
  23. Opps....sorry, mine is the 20L version, not 30L. Here is another shot before installation.
