Are you sure you want to use laminate? It comes in minimum 4' x 8' or 5' x 10' or 5' x 12'. There are many brands available like Formica, Nevamar, etc.... Price also varies. Cutting it is like using the cutter for plastic. Thickness varies from 0.5mm or 0.6mm to 1.2mm. Glue used will be those so called laminate glue eg. Elephant Glue (sniff already can get high type). Unless your local hardware shop can cut and sell them in small pieces, else it's difficult to handle. There is one shop along Geylang called Evershine that sell cheaper grade range of laminates too. But such shop sell in big sizes. If the area of contact is big, it's not quite easy to remove them unless you are used to it. If the old laminate is ok, then you can juz paste over it. Laminate basicall it's like plastic - juz a different kind.

My wife juz bought one piano from Christofori for my K2 girl. As a student there, they have student price and everynow and then, they also have 2nd hand piano for sale. They have 2 free tuning services and it's expected to tune it every 6mths. The rest is juz placing a heater (small wattage compare to your pump haha) in the piano and on for 24hrs a day everyday. Of course, cleaning it and placing of mothball inside the piano. Their course is one to one and charges not too high too.

Yep it's a shop in Ubi Road 3 selling acrylic sheet. Actually the light tubes and light set are meant for their signage customers. But it's worth checking it out and find out whether it's suitable for use.. I really don't know.

Why don't you try DAMA? They have shorter version but T4 light. Think it's around 1ft. Inbuilt electronic ballast and can link tube to tube. Not expensive too. But I don't know how many K is that.

May I know whether if it's the norm to have micro bubbles out of the skimmer even if it's properly tuned? Is this problem only exists for beckett skimmer and not the other types of skimmers? If it's the norm, why didn't the manufacturer solve this problem? Thanks.

If a T5 or T4 tube does not have any color temperature indication but the lux is around 5,900; is this suitable for use in a standard 2ft or smaller tank? I've seen Dama selling these T5 and T4 tubes with the electronic ballast inbuit, but they do not have any color temp. indication and of course the price is very attractive.

As the spray injection method is patented, I've started to make another one but this time is apirating method without needlewheel; so it's not patented. Almost ready; now doing all the leak test and overflowing test. After this final phase of test, I'll update again in a new thread. Thanks.

Inorder to avoid another misunderstanding or whatsoever with other skimmer, I now renamed my skimmer as; Bubble Diffuser Skimmerbox C12 and the method of skimming is by Bubble Diffusion. Also the Spray Head has being renamed as Bubble Diffusion Head.

The Sprayhead; The Sprayhead is a simple plastic end cap tightened to a 90deg. elbow joint. The original design has juz a single hole drilled in the endcap, but I find the amount of bubbles is not enough. Inorder to increase the amount of bubbles, I drilled 3 inline holes on the endcap instead of one; Let's compared the amount of bubbles with the 3 holes endcap with the previous 1 hole; Previous 1 hole bubbles amount; Now with 3 holes endcap bubbles amount (see attached); http://www.guppiesonli.com/pn/modules/PNph...t_bubbles_2.jpg

HI Oceandeep, Thanks for the info. But needlewheel pump skimmer operates in a different manner though it generates more bubbles. The pump needs to be output directly into the body of the skimmer as the water and air mixture is done in the pump. That will required me to either put the pump into the skimmer body like the MCE 600 Deltec or drill a hole into the skimmer body and attach the outlet of the pump to the body. This will definitely change the design differently.

Hi, Thanks for the advise. Guess probably if there's one, it should be the name Nanomara. Anyway I have not seen the internal parts or the noozle of their design as most images are not availabled and really I dun have the intention to copy their design at all; onli the idea of having the spray injection method. Of course there should be various or many ways to achieve the spray injection method and what is the best way. Theirs is of course a proven way but I dun know what's their way as I don't own one of their skimmer as well. I'm not too sure if he's barred from all forums becoz of that as there is no mention that he's barred from any forum. Anyway, thanks a lot. I think I should not let this affect my experiments on this skimmer as my initial intention is not to infringe their copyrights.

Appreciate your concern. I'm not too sure about any infringement of the copyrights of their design as it's not the same. Spray injection head is not the same as theirs too though the method is still called spray injection. Dun think one can patent the method but onli the design.

Cost is about $60 excluding manhour and wastage due to first trial and error. Spent about 3 weeks designing and making it. Once cut to size, the making and assembly about 1 day.

Yes, needlewheel. For both method, the pump inlet will be in the middle of the skimmer body thus the glueing part or the securing of it to the body is very important to ensure no leakage. As it's my first diy, dare not try it in case there is a leak or 'burst' due to too high a pressure, then my cabinet will be all wet.
