  1. Hi bro, posted the answers in your thread.
  2. Sorri, got a bit confused as you answering on both haha. Pls forgive the old man. OK, the normal ballast has a starter. Usually the efficiency is not so good and I think there might be flickering in time to come. So it's better to use a electronic ballast as it won't be as hot too. (Correct me if I'm wrong). You may see the www.nanocustoms.com for all these mod or add on. Also the standard tube of 6500K may not be good enough and it's better to have it change to 10K tube. Well you see, the tank is onli $30 and the tube is about $20 and the electronic ballast (haven't find the correct size yet) is also about $20 to $30. So add up, it's more expensive than the tank and that's what is holding me back hehe. The fans are ok to suck air out and even if you change to blow in, it's also blowing into the 4 chamber instead of the main tank area. As it's onli a 12G or smaller tank, I personally don't think it's necessary to fit in a chiller to increase the cost of it. Juz find a cooler place for the tank. I believed that dama light tube should have 6W type but juz that they didn't bring in the stock.
  3. Hi Maxstar, Do you have the intention to change the ballast, starter to electronic ballast and the 6500K tube to 10K tube? I've bought one too but intend to mod it first before using hehe. The T5 8W tube from dama is too big and if can find the 6W tube then can use 4x6W will be good as the size is smaller. How is the temperature in your tank? Do you put it in the aircon room? Thanks and nice setup.
  4. So did you change the lights (the standard one provided is one 24W 6500K PL tube)? The normal ballast with starter - did you change it to electronic ballast? Did you add a splash guard to cover the fan and the ballast starter side? Sorri to ask so many questions but the standard equipment they provided seem to be more for planted tanks instead of marine. Also if the starter and the fan is not cover, the salt splash may somehow damage it in a matter of time. Actually both the fans are drawing hot air out and not blowing in, so most have splash guard too. Nice setup too!
  5. How much are you selling? What pump to use, any idea?
  6. Frankly if you ask me, I prefer the real blue one and not indigo one and with the word 'actinic'.
  7. Nice setup Dazer. What are you doing in Perth??? Working, study or staying there for good???
  8. Extremely nice for a 2ft tank! Guess the pratas must have cost you a bomb too. More photos pls.
  9. Going one 1 floor up is my polyps. Having tried some polyps and they don't seem to last very long.
  10. Some of the heavier debris are settled down at the bottom of the skimmer as probably the air bubble is not able to lift them up to the collection cup.
  11. Hi Hammy and all, Thanks for all the compliments. The skimmate is not those dry skimmate but wet. It's not as great as those purchased off the shelf skimmer but of course cost wise, it's much cheaper and the powerhead is onli a Ehiem compact 300. Low power consumption and not noisy and very little heat generated inside the tank. You see the photo below is the skimmate;
  12. Most don't fully closeup when lights are off and infact majority don't closeup like the normal zoo. I've tried feeding mysis shrimp but nothing special as the food juz stuck at the mouth there. The touch is a bit slippery feeling like some coral.
  13. Think so too. It's onli $12 for the whole piece hehe.
  14. All three are from Ah Beng at Pasir Ris Farmway.
  15. Not so sure if this is a Yellow Alveopora or Goniopora, anyone can count the tentacles? Sometimes I count is 12 and sometimes it's 24 hehe, give up. Note : The actual coral is actually more yellow than shown in the photo. Close up; Whole view;
  16. Very nice setup and full tank shot.
  17. Some of those tube worms that is on the sandbed. Light purple; Brown and shaped like Christmas tree type; And the common pink type;
  18. This one my favourite, Orange color type. Not so sure if it's still called a mushroom; Close up; The overall view;
  19. You need to register to view the pictures I think.
  20. Below are some of the landed property dwellers as they are on the sandbed. Sort of Red colored Mushroom closeup; Bunch of them;
  21. Thanks bro. Yes, it's my own DIY as in the linked thread. More pics coming soon.
  22. I will show some close-up views of those gems inside the tank first before the whole tank view as it's not fully filled up yet. All photos are taken with an old compact Nikon Coolpix 775 so the focusing and exposure are all auto and have no manual override. Sorri if the photos are not up to standard. The Alveopora Close up; The Alveopora standing on the sandbed;
