Thanks Shoelvy. I can't drive more than 100km/hr so a Ferrari is no use to me hehe, joking. Really appreciate your input. Yep, electrical bill is one issue and generating too much heat from those high wattages is another worry as water still pass thru them, whether internal or external pump. Think 27 deg. is quite the norm for temp. setting. Thanks for telling me about the CL450 for 2ft tank. Is the Weipro 4000 noisy?

If onli yours is a 4X2ft tube..... anyway upz for you.

Thank you very much for your input. The height from my sump to the main tank on top is the most 1.2m. I intend to use an external return pump as I don't wish to put the pump in the sump as it may heat up the water due to the high wattage of the pump. Yes, do agreed that the Ehiem 1262 is better over the Aquabee due to head loss, the onli concern I've is the much higher wattage of Ehiem. Actually I do understand that CL650 can be used for much bigger tank than 2ft as most of you are using. After spoken to one of the sponsors here, I was recommended to use a higher rated chiller as it will save energy and cool down the water faster. BTW, what is the ideal chiller size for Resun to use for a standard 2ft tank so that it will not kick on too often? Understand that kiking on too often will worn out the chiller faster and also a waste of electricity. Thanks once again.

Thanks very much for the useful link. It's really a very good article. As it mentioned : size yr chiller according to the heat load and tank capacity. This is the most difficult part where I'm not sure. Mine is a 2ft tank with a 2ft sump. 4x24W T5 tubes. 1 Macro AS100P skimmer. That's all in the mean time. So from here, how to determine what chiller size to use (For Resun chillers). And also is one return pump for chiller and return enough?

Is it ok to use juz 1 pump (eg. Aquabee UP3000i - 3000l/hr) for the CL650 chiller and also as a return pump instead of 2 pumps? What are the disadvantages if juz using 1 pump? Will it cause the chiller to kick on more often? My main tank and sump are 2ft tanks. Thank you.

You mean the Ehiem 1262 is around $110 to $120? New or used one? I thought 1262 new one is much more expensive?
-
I'm looking for a Aquabee UP3000i pump. Anyone selling pls PM me and kindly state age of pump. Thank you.
-
Multi sicce 4000? How is the price, wattage? Can it be used externally?
-
Thanks Mkt for your info. Are you using them in water or externally? How long have the pumps being used already?
-
Ehiem 1262 is like $255 (normal retail price) and Aquabee 3000i is $184 (normal retail price may or may not less 10%). Not so sure if c328 or Nature Aquarium got cheaper or not. Tanga, are you looking for one too?

I'm deciding which return pump to be used Externally for my 2 ft main tank - Aquabee UP 3000i or Ehiem 1262? Aquabee UP 3000i - 3000l /hr 45W Ehiem 1262 - 3400 l /hr 65W One thing I don't like about Ehiem is the high wattage which tends to heat up the water tremendously, though it's a quiet and reliable pump. Anyone used Aquabee pump externally before? Is it as quiet and reliable compared to the Ehiem? Thank you.
-
Anyone got Ehiem 1262 pump for sale, pls PM me. Kindly state how old is your pump. Thank you.
-
Thanks Marble, finally see the overflow holes.
-
All the best to your exam.
-
Thanks bro for your pm and info. Great help! Can I check is your tank drilled with bottom overflow hole or you diy your overflow pipes (coz can't see clearly in the photo)? Thanks once again.
-
Guess if there is a power failure to your return pump, the bottom siphone will such dry your main tank and your sump will be flooded.
-
Thanks for your info and help, bro Soon.
-
Hi Marble, Sorri to bother you again... Where did you get all your pipings and couplings from? BTW how is the Ehiem 1262 doing? Is it powerful enough for your tank? Thanks.
-
Thanks Soon, you are so helpful! So the return pump is connected to the inlet of the chiller and the outlet of the chiller is back to the main tank right? Is the return pump noisy and what is the power rating (in watts) of the return pump? BTW, do you have a float switch connected to the return pump in case the overflow box or pipe breaks siphon? Thanks once again.
-
Hi Tanga, So did you manage to find out about the float switch? Thanks.
-
Hi Soon, Are you using the ibox as overflow? What is the diameter (OD) of your piping? What return pump and rating are you using? How you configure your chiller? With another pump? Sorri for asking so many questions and hope you don't mind. Thanks.
-
Thanks, as I'm going to make a sump tank for my 2 footer too. Hope your chiller is ok as I've read your other thread.
-
Thanks for the info. BTW, say your sump tank in the thread. May I know the L X W X H of the sump tank? Also where do you make it and how much does it cost? Thank you.
-
Hi, May I know your chiller CL280 one day kick on how many times? How is the power consumption? Thanks.
-
Nice tank. Is the sump having 3 chambers? So your skimmer will be in which chamber? Thanks.
