  1. nothing impressive. . ah beng got 100 schooling yellow tangs. . After some consideration, kinda regret upgrading to such a huge tank. I wld rather have a nice 3x3x2 ft cube and keep some corals. . instead of such a huge tank with only fishes.
  2. If i am not wrong, the shovel nose shark is not poisonous at all. It does not have spikes at the tail or anything, ah beng himself also use hand to catch the shovel nose when i got it from him. However, the blue spotted is indeed poisonous. The spikes at the tail is enough for an emergency if the stingray is a huge one. I do not hand feed the stingray (too much hassle). I just throw 2 market prawns into the tank once every 2-3 days. . . the shovel nose is well trained on market prawn.
  3. Congratualations. . . So wad's the new equipments for ur set-up? Seems like u might need a more powerful chiller and add an extra metal halide. The Seio620 wun be powerful enuff, a tunze 6060 will be better.
  4. Hi, now that we are back on track. . . I believe that the wire mesh will trap dirt overtime as well although it has not been proven considering that i have only been using the skimmer for 2 weeks plus. Even when tt happens, i don't think the skimming will stop completely. More like the performance will drop. I still have no idea how often this skimmer needs maintenance. I suggest taking the pump out once every 2 months to clean the wire mesh. Regarding the water volume and air flow, the only way to prove it is for someone to test it using a reliable air flow meter. However, we sld give ATI the benefit of doubt that what they stated is true. Lastly, for someone who owns a bubble king, the bubble master will not be up to ur expectations. p.s. Tonny, the thread was started by me to provide an insight about the skimmer. Therefore throughout the thread, i stated both the cons and pros of the product. However, other parties might want to start their own thread to sell the product.
  5. Jervis, u misread my intention. I am just curious as to why you can tell me that the new pump for ATI twister sucks and yet it was not reflected in ur own review thread? This will mislead the reefers here bearing in mind that a review consist of both pros and cons. If you only wish to mention the pros and casually ignoring the cons, might as well not do a product review? Btw you dun have to put forward an explaination, you do not owe me or anyone on this forum anything.
  6. Jervis, i understand tt u started a new thread on another forum but no response. ATI BM 250 is not some complicated equipment. I believe most reefers can understand from this product review. Besides, how can we expect a neutral, unbiased and impartial review when you clearly mention to me personally that the ATI Twister pump sucks but refuse to post on your review? Cheers. Be well.
  7. This is a product review, any other comments or etc can go via pm. Kinda diluting the thread. p.s. i bought the ATI BM 250 at less than the rrp by certain lfs.
  8. I believe this thread is started for exchanging information regarding the ATI skimmer. If its for commercial purpose, put it under the sponsors thread.
  9. Thought HDB flats are not allowed to keep more than one dog. Besides, dogs allowed in HDB definately dun include Husky, unless its alaskan keekai. . Careful of AVA. This article is for you. Ava License for dogs and regulations
  10. Added a 7 inch Naso Tang and a blue-spotted stingray. pics will come shortly.
  11. I understand from another reefer that OR pump must be placed on the floor, which means it can't be position standing such as onto the RO recirculating model. Perhaps its possible to consider other models such as eheim or aquabee. .
  12. Iwarna: Lots of bright orange discosomas!!!!! Some assorted mushrooms. . . Majestic angel, blue face angel, clown trigger. . . . Ah-beng: powder brown tang, yellow tang, sohal tang, purple tang, cleaner shrimps, assorted fishes. Pacific Marine: French angel (many pieces), Huge naso tang, sohal tang, assorted fishes cheers all.
  13. I think the normal 1 has to be placed in sump (which i assume u dun ahve considering u are building a nano). The recirculating one sld be a better option for you, but it will definately cost more. How about considering Deltec MCE model? I know its slightly expensive. .
  14. Hi Joerg, i was wondering if ATI will come up with other model of skimmer in the near future? Such as a external model skimmer. . . for reefers who prefer out-sump or. . . A bigger model, one tt has a wider and taller body, perhaps fired with two pumps instead of one.
  15. Just switched my pumps to Eheim, can feel its more powerful than the Aquabee 3000 i was previously using. This hobby is so addictive, so much to explore and so much equipments to buy. I think i am fully equipped for now though!
  16. dude, considering that you used to use AquaC and deltec, i dun think the reef octopus will be up to ur standard. However, for the recirculating model, the skimmer body is very identical to deltec. Perhaps can do some DIY, change the pump or something for more powerful results.
