  1. Flat rocks, base rocks, mid size rocks, small rocks all available.
  2. i kept blue-spotted stingray before. Maybe i was lucky the last time round, it wasnt a fussy eater. i actually saw a fish called the Ray Shark according to the lfs. It looks more like a stingray actually, but damn expensive. . like 120sgd.
  3. be more patient. . . that's the key for keeping sps in future. . . Btw i am considering getting a mini blue-spotted ray for my tank (as small as possible) and some triggers. Not gonna convert it into a fully predator tank, but a slight change. i am getting bored of facing my tangs everyday. They can never feed enuff.
  4. I know there are a few sea horse keepers out there. . do chip in and shre ur advice. Although personally i havent tried sea horses before, but i visited a reefer who kept his tank temperature at constant 25 degrees (which is extremely cold) just for the seahorses. Perhaps some species need low temperature than others. i sld believe thew entire set up will cost less than $2000. cheers.
  5. jervis. . every time pictures same old same old. . never invest in new corals? jk. . .
  6. oh yes. . my bad. . . try to go for the biggest possible tank possible. In ur case i wld say 5 x 2.5 x 2 feet tank. From experience, its best to get all possible equipments before the tank as it wld be easier to design the sump to suit ur equipments.
  7. Lots of live rocks in my sump. . more than half my sump filled with live rocks. . lol. . interested parties come collect asap.
  8. not bad. . . the ATI is still relatively new to local reefers. Some might wanna take the risk and try it while some are sceptical especially if they are needle-wheel users. Personally i go for the risk, you would not know until you try. Its still a price i can afford to pay if things dun work out. As for now, my faith for ATI BM still stands strong. Basically, my considerations were: What's the most cost effective, energy saving skimmer with superb performance under $1500. My choices were limited to ATI BM 250 & Deltec 851. Just took the opportunity to give ATI a chance. But i have to say, no doubt Deltec is a fantastic skimmer.
  9. jervis, thanks for sharing ur experience here. I was thinking of building a skimmer similar to ATI BM 250 but instead of using one pump, innovate it into 2 pumps. hmm... yea its gonna be very expensive to diy such a project, let me go figure something. Mean while interested parties in ATI BM 250 can go www.zeovit.com for more information, come my place to have a look or head down to AM.
  10. my bro borrow my digital cam to go london. . . so no pictures. . anyway same as AM wad... jervis, wanna do some diy project? i was thinking of diy-ing the ATI BM.
  11. so which unit are u receiving for the new tank? the one with the shorter or longer neck?
  12. useful information but thread starter already left the hobby. . temporarily/permanent.
  13. Skimmer still performing as usual. ATI BM 250 is very similar to Bk, except that the latter uses a more powerful pump and the workmanship is excellent. The ATI BM looks like some diy job. . seriously. . that's why its so easy for reefers to dulplicate. I really think they can do something about the workmanship. Perhaps after they have finalise and complete the R&D on the skimmer. Nevertheless, its still a great skimmer.
  14. Btw jervis, i saw the unit posted by AM and i realise tt the neck is slightly higher than mine by about 3 inches. Here's the question: my ATI BM is foaming just nice at the neck right now. Therefore if the current ones brought in by AM has a taller neck, the dirt collected will not be in the skimmer cup but on the neck instead. I definately have not witness the "taller neck" ATI BM in action yet. Perhaps it performs just as well.
  15. What i meant was. . the the skimmer is performing well. However, in the case tt i find any errors over time, i will let u guys know. Btw i reliase tt when i feed cyclopreeze to the fishes, the skimming becomes irregular. I guess tt happens for most skimmers, not just ATI BM.

  17. Frankly, the fan in my cabinet is so loud tt it silence all other pumps. i did off my fan n check the noise level la. . its fairly quiet. No sound coming from the air intake. As for the pump, since eheim doesnt vibrate tt much, sld be just as silent.
  18. The way i see it, spare parts are already readily available. Assuming the skimmer's body is perfectly fine. 1) Eheim pump is readily available in the market. 2) The thread-wheel can be DIY if u have the material. 3) No special technology or hidden parts about this skimmer, which makes it easy to copy. Thus no issues man. . anyway Eheim pumps are known to be reliable. You guys will be the first to know if my ATI BM starts giving trouble.
  19. i was advised that apparently Eheim 1260 and Eheim 1262 pump does not make a difference on this ATI BM. jervis, if yours is a 1260, lets do a comparison. the point is to make fair judgement regarding the ATI BM. If its not up to standard, i will be honest to say its not up to standard. Just need some time for more concrete evidence.
  20. Did u just change ur lights recently? Too strong lights or insufficent lights can result in breaching of corals.
  21. It looks pretty similar. i feed the fishes with new spectrum pellets, as well as 8 cubes of brine/mysis shrimps daily. Every two days will dose some cyclopreeze into the tank. so far no complaints about the skimmer. However, if it does underperform or break down or what i will update u guys.
  22. haha. . i took the risk of ordering the ATI BM 250 considering its only reknown in Germany, but not the rest of the reefing community. Its definately my own-doing if the skimmer doesnt perform. Dun worry, u can place ur head back. .
  23. A little update on my fishes: Sohal Tang Red Sea Salfin Tang Purple Tang Blue Tang x9 Yellow Tang x9 Black Line Trigger Bi-colour Angel Maroon Clown Common Clown Green Chromis x15 My water too clean leh. . lots of bubbles but not skimmate. Maybe the collection cup too huge, needs a long time to fill it up.
  24. The BM 250 is obviously oversized for both our tanks. At least i knoe i dun have to change a skimmer even when i upgrade my tank to 10 footer. Thanks for recommending the ATI BM.
  25. I have experienced 3 different types of beckett skimmers before. I cannot deny the fact that beckett do perform and its great at churning out waste. However, considering the rising PUB bills nowadays, it might be wiser to spend more on the initial part and save more on the electricity on the long run. Since witnessing the Deltec, i was convinced that needlewheel do perform as well. Frankly, my initial choice for the last few months was Deltec AP851. I was tt close to order when our dear bro jervis advise tt i would require the Deltec AP702 or 902 instead. As a result, i decided to test out the ATI Bubble Master and the performance is comparable to Deltec.
