Joerg, there are many versions of the ATI BM in the market currently. For example, 1) the ATI twister in www.zeovit.com is using eheim 1250 pump while local reefers are getting the new pump. 2) the ATI BM tt i purchased have a grey neck, so does your agent, whereby those at www.zeovit.com have a clear acrylic neck. 3) My version comes with an eheim 1262 pump while those at www.zeovit.com are using the eheim 1260 pump. Therefore, isnt it better for ATI to complete its R&D before launching the skimmer instead of coming up with so many versions?

well. . . there's no specific timing on how long u sld leave e live rocks dry for. Its just tt from my experience, no matter weather i purchase live rocks from fellow reefers of from lfs, there's still 1-2 crabs and some worms.

thank you. That's exactly what another reefer comment about the skimmer as well. There was no ill intention when i mentioned tt the skimmer cup is difficult to remove. Its different when the skimmer is dry and when it already ran for a few weeks. Very gd point brought up by a sensible reefer. cheers mate.

dude, Reef Octopus do sell overflow boxes, its slightly cheaper. Alternatively, u can get a quotation from one of the sponsors, I-Aquatic.

opps... my bad. . . yea i get what u mean. . curing live rocks is indeed a slightly troublesome process. jervis, even when u bring the live rocks home, its better to leave it dry for 12 hours or so. . . u will see different worms n crabs crawling out of it. . .

What's so difficult about curing ur own live rocks? all u need is a big blue tub, dump in the live rocks and run the skimmer for weeks or months. i believe most reefers here have purchased LR directly from lfs before and no accounts of tank crashes. If u wan truly cured rocks, might as well buy from fellow reefers instead of lfs.

That was before i put the skimmer into the sump and tried to lift up the collection cup. Anyway each to his own. I am here to share my findings. When u own a BM, tell me about your experience. If u expect me to just post the positive side of the ATI BM, i am sorry i can't do that. A review is suppose to consist of both the +ve and -ve aspects. I think the review has been pretty fair. If not, start from page one again.

i realise i have difficulty taking out the collection cup for maintenance purpose. For Deltec, its simple as you only need to twist the collection cup a little. For beckett, there's all the thumb screws. Some might like it, others might think its slightly troublesome. As for the ATI BM 250, its super difficult to take out the collection cup from the skimmer body. Its quite bad considering i wash the collection cup twice a week. Btw i figured out that difference food fed to the fishes does affect the performance of the skimmer. Here are the scenarios: Brine/mysis shrimps: normal skimming Cyclopreeze: skimmer doesnt produce much bubbles Squid mixed with prawn meat: skimmer overflows

Not in the pasir ris lfs. If u want fire shrimps, ah beng does have a lot. Anyway cleaner shrimps do come in quite frequently, no hurry. cheers!

Acrylic tanks are indeed prone to scratches, but u get better clarity. Its actually a trade off.

yea bamboo sharks come in small sizes. ah beng has both the eggs and s,m,l sizes of the sharks. i actually prefer stingray. . . the shovel nose is quite interesting. every week just buy $2 of market prawns to feed him.

Jervis, its quite wasted for you to switch from the 1/5hp arctica to the 1/4 hp arctica. If u are using all T5, the 1/5 sld be able to cope though.

Nowadays chinchilla prices drop a lot. . . velvet chins which use to cost $1000 only cost about $500-$700 now. p.s. itchy mouth people stay off.

in exchange for a mystery wrasse. anyway ah beng just came in batam or phillpines or dunno wad shipment. Normal fishes expected. . some emperor angels. . . clown. . think there's coral beauty. . etc etc.

I was at indochine last month, still see about 8-10 black tip sharks swimming ard. As for wisma, there's no more black tip. Maybe their system cant support? Write to them ask them to use bubble king 650 external!
