  5. Reef Manics FR with One bottle of Carbon Free. Add $25 for 500ml of phosphate remover. Add $20 for Eheim compact puump.
  6. I just check and it seems that the Co2 cylinder which i got is 3.5 litres, which means i don't have to top up as often as before when i was using a 2 litres cylinder. Anyway just an advice for everyone, every Co2 refill cost between $15-$20 regardless of Co2 cylinder size. Therefore its more economical to get a bigger cylinder. I was so tempted to get another 10 litres Co2 cylinder earlier and i calculated tt it will take 3-4 years before i need to top up. . LOL.
  7. Hi, you can't stop a chiller from producing hot air. It sld be kept in a well ventilated place. To answer ur qn, u can place the chiller 10000 miles away as long as u have a pump powerful enuff to pump the water back. Other than the unsightly pipings, 10m is alright.
  8. i think there are some misconceptions here. . . . . . To promote coraline algae, ur calcium level sld be kept around 380-420. At the same time, prolong hours of actinic lights do assist in coraline growth. Other than tt, i find that MH enhance coraline growth more than T5. You can't just buy LR from LFS and expect it to spread to ur existing rocks. It does not work tt way. Even with a tank of whitened rocks, the coraline algae can still grow back with the right paremeters. For a start, dose kalkwassar and calcium regularly.
  9. Here's a break down of cost based on 2nd hand equipments: CO2 cylinder with regulator/solenoid : $150 Media: Definately have to buy brand new, about $100 Calcium reactor: $250-$350 based on prices at pasam malam Total damage: $500 On the long run, u dun have to spend money on addictives such as calcium, strongtium, magnesium etc. Its all taken care of by the CR.
  10. Here's the break down of cost for you: Assumption: All brand new equipments. Co2 cylinder: $100-$150 depending on size Regulator: $80-$150 depending on brand and weather the set includes a solenoid Media: Either ARM or Rowalith, ARM rrp is $65 for 3.4kg while Rowalith rrp is $99 for 12.5kg Calcium Reactor: Approx $500 Accessories: all the tubes etc $10 To take the average, u wld spend close to $800 for a brand new set of CR. Me and a few other reefers took a calculation previously based on how much addictives we dose a month and the result is that it will take close to two years for the CR to break even with the cost of the addictives. (This cost doesn't include the trouble of dosing addictives daily etc etc etc etc etc). Besides, u can stabilise ur PH with a CR.
  11. I still remeber the last time i was at Devils Bar dance floor, there were two pretty hot chicks prancing around on the dance floor. They are like 7/10 kinda hot and i was wondering why no guys were dancing with them. To top it off, the figure is like WAH!!! Only after 10 min, than i reliase they are pretty boys! man. . those surgeons did one hell of a job.
  12. Absolutely right. Many reefers here can vote for Gerald's honesty, patience and service. The only slight misunderstanding i had with Gerald was tt he took rather long to deliver my refugim tank. However, judging from the number of reefers who order tank from him these two months plus his fresh water clients, i can understand why. Anyway cheers dude. All the best.
  13. Some updates: Have not decide whose Calcium Reactor to use yet, but most likely wld be from Ocean Werk. 1) Already ordered Rowalith C for the CR. 2) Already got this CO2 Cylinder with JBJ Regulator & Solenoid from another freshwater forum.
  14. That's a nice collection. . . recently no florida rics available. . have to wait for next shipment. If i have any more rics, be sure i will ask u to come choose. . .
  15. i will by flying over to Burma some time next month. . . have a friend who stays there. I wld prefer backpacking in Europe!! haha. . but need a lot more mollas. . i think its more fun and safer if u backpack in pairs, instead of solo-ing. Some SEA countries are kinda dodgy.
  16. Which part of SEA? u mean vietnam, thailand, buma sorta thingy?
  17. Teo, your set up also another no expense spared one. My lightings definately can't support a full sps tank, but a partial one. All other equipments in place except a calcium reactor, which i am looking for one now. Monti are really nice, perhaps can drop by ur place to see ur actual set up. Not adding any rics lately?
  18. Before the monti die, better frag out for the rest of us!
  19. Looks like we are both looking for CR. When i had the kalkreactor and calcium reactor running side by side for my previous set up, coraline algae bloomed like mad! Most imptly, can stop dosing addictives!
  20. I plan to install Calcium Reactor again, regret selling my previous CR. Anyway i looking at brands like I-Aquatic, Reef Manics, MRC, Barr Aquatic and Deltec. Strictly no Skimz brand. Coz cylinder must be at least 5 litre. Thanks peeps.
  21. This time round all out. . . no expense spared. well done.
