i am planning to keep other tangs, so have to make space. . Once i catch out my purple tangs, i will keep you posted ya? The two purple tangs feeds on everything. I have 4 yellow tangs, all doing well. there will be occassional fights but nothing serious. Tangs sld be kept in odd number if possible. p.s. if your tank is 10 feet, it doesnt matter if u keep in odd or even numbers.

Thanks bro for sharing the pics. Yes that's the one. Rather hard to find in lfs. -
hi, how do you cool down the air which enters the beckett skimmer? The pros of running a beckett skimmer is prob the amount of heat it generates back into the tank, and the high wattage of the pump needed to run it. Anyway this heat issue is insignificant for those who runs a chiller. However, those who have a fowlr tank/without chillers might be affected bcuz of an increase in temperature.
-
I would like to share with all reefers a situation i experienced. Before i install the 6 inch by 42 inch beckett skimmer, my tank temperature is maintained at a constant 28-29 degrees. After installing the beckett skimmer, my tank temperature rises to 30 degrees! Few points to consider: 1) Is it bcuz of the pump that generates the extra heat? 2) Is it bcuz of the friction of the water in the reaction chamber that generates the extra heat? Its amazing that a beckett skimmer can increase your tank temperature by 1-2 degrees.

bro, the polyps is much bigger than normal suns. Its almost 2-3 times the size of normal suns. This type of sun is only available in Hong Kong, therefore explaining for their high price. Normal suns: maybe $10-$50 Super suns: $15-$18 PER POLYP. -
Stablio: juvenile tangs often don't show their true colours as compared when they are adults. i.e orange shoulder tang. AT are not very rare, maybe once every few weeks there would be a shipment. Its ABT that i cant find yet. Bascially, after speaking to some lfs, they are willing to bring in black tang, gem tang, any tang u can find in the encyclopedia as long as you request for it. I am also looking at rare tangs, rather than the common yellow, blue, purple tangs. cheers! p.s. fri evening sld be ok.

Sentosa left one sohal, about 4 inch. -
Worst than that. women have the power to create political unstability.
-
Black tang also need special order. Cheapest i can get is $300 from a reputable lfs. Sorry bro, but the gem tang i can get it cheaper than black tang.
-
bro, i pass the stingray and the bamboo shark to another reefing buddy which owns a 7feet tank. Basically, only hardy corals like mushrooms can survive in a tank without chiller. The rest of the corals will melt/disintegrate in water above 29 degrees.
-
bro, i need to get back my fish trap from my reefing buddy b4 i can catch out the two purple tangs and maybe one yellow tang. Don't worry, the gem tang is only 3 digits. But i think need special order, and got minimum quota to meet b4 the lfs will bring in for me. maybe this weekend can go chiong pasir ris side lfs. Btw i would have gotten ur sohal if the size is about 4-5 inches and not 8 inch!!
-
i am definately removing the two purple tangs, anyone interested? Feeds on everything. Anyway i manage to find a source for gem tang, would u be interested? Since u starting out on coral tank, means need to buy more equipments already. Don't worry bro, i can check out the flame angel for you any time.

When u put two or more women together in an office = BIG TIME POLITICS

sorry to borrow the thread as well. . currently i dose 8 litres of kalkwassar a week, so this is mainly the culprit for the high po4?
-
bro, dun say that. i always look up to you, especially since you manage to keep some of the more difficult and exotic tangs. I spend quite a substantial amount on equipments but this is for long term basis, since they don't break down ( i.e. beckett, calcium reactor etc). Corals tank require a lot more effort than just a fowlr tank, and twice as much if you have both fowlr and coral tank. Last month electricity bill shoot up to $460, so i dun dare add any more equipments.
-
no. copper sld only be use in Q-tank, not main tank especially when u have other invetebrates such as snails, hermit crabs etc. . This will mainly be a Tangs tank.

Once a day or once every two days. Definately ur fishes would love it if you run a chiller, but its really bcuz of economical reasons that i am not running one. I keep my powerheads to the minimum and i choose to use Aqualight T5. Rio20HF as return pump Tunze6060 as wavemaker (might add a maxijet1200) resun md55 for beckett

Hi, i don't run a chiller for my fowlr bcuz of economical reasons. Instead, i have a fan blowing constantly at the water surface which maintains the temperature below 29 degrees at all times. From wad i understand, tangs are able to adapt to temperatures between 25 degrees to 29 degrees. However, for angels its different, a chiller might be necessary.
