Just some opnions of my own. Many reefers claim different brands of skimmers to be the best and swore by it. Reefers with deep pockets can spend $2000-$3000 on skimmers alone. To me, rather than to pay $2000-$3000 for a skimmer or use a 4 footer beckett, i rather do the following: IF i ever get a new set up: i will put a 6 inch by 24 inch beckett skimmer, along with a deltec needlewheel and a schuran jetskim 120 skimmer. Best of both worlds, beckett combine with needlewheel. No more complains.

Type of lights: Personally using PL lights. Although T5 wld be better, also know pple who use 150watt MH for refugim. Photo period: 7 pm to 7 am. Size of tank : 3x2x2.5 ft Size of refugim: approx 1 ft by 1 ft. Refugims help to cultivate copepods and brittle stars.

The tomini been with me for a week only, so i can't say much about it. This fella got whack most by the sohal, hope it wil survive. DA corals got disturbed? ask him pass his zoos to me can?

It will haunt you big time. Go take out the LR and rid it of pests like crabs.

i can't get good shots of the AT and tomini. To date, the At has been with me for almost two months. I wouldnt say its completely stabilise but is doing well so far.

Keith. At first look i didnt realise yours is an aquatechnic tank as well due to the overflow. Aquatechnic tanks are very suitable for full fletche SPS. Not following the trend into sps, but its tempting me.

no need on lights. add kalkwassar and calcium regularly for the growth of coraline algae.

IMO, you can just avoid the shop. The prices dun justify the quality of the corals. A few lfs is famous for it.

bro, just curious what's the estimated running cost of your tank? I heard someone locally owns a 10 feet by 10 feet by 5 feet tank at home. . he's really the man.

bro, did u clean the live rocks? dip in fresh water and all? u will see worms and crabs aloating after that.

bro, we talking about the same shop. I vowed never to enter that black shop again. if their blastos can sell for $100, and pratas for $200, i believe my display tank's prata can sell triple the price and blasto twice the price.

i felt insulted when the lfs quoted me up to $200 for pratas. i mean. . i started reefing 6 years ago. . longer than ur lfs exsistance. . and i dun look like carrothead.

Can pm me the name of the shop? I might know which one u are talking about. . experienced he same incident also. The prices of certain corals n fishes did go up due to higher fuel prices, hurricane in the states, terrorist tax etc. But generally the jack up in price is not drastic overnight.

The pipe is leaking again. Looks like it will take a long while to get the system running again. First: tear down the rock scape Second: remove all the water third: take out the piping fourth: redo the entire thing. Sounds fun isnt it?

My tank got nothing you will be interested in. . all average average corals. .

i also know. . the 4 footer not ready for another two months. too many fishes in my tank already.

Your tank is one of the most fully equipped around and its really impressive the effort and money you put into this hobby. Dorado, stop trying to psycho me into sps. sps = more time and effort = 2x250watt Mh = 3/4 hp chiller = electricity bills shoot up the ceiling again. Anyway the tank is still in the infant stage, will take a while before any LS can be added in.
