The beckett can produce more skimmate on the same tank than a Schuran. However, the Schuran only uses a Aquabee 2000 pump which is 35 watt, so i have no complains.

Wah... u guys manage to dig out such an old thread. Anyway here's what i think: The only two criterias i look for in a shop are service and honesty. Generally, most lfs i came across are alright. However, there are a few occassions when certain lfs are dishonest. i.e. The lfs quoted me $200 for a prata which u can get it easily else where for $50-$80. i.e. The lfs quote you accordingly to your age and the way you dress. My friend wears a suit to the lfs and got quoted $150 for some coral. Another fella walk in wearing a t-shirt and got quoted $100 for the same coral. p.s. pls dun pm me asking which lfs i am refering to. Its not right to expose it outright but personally, i just stop visiting it. That is my only blacklisted shop.

Recently, i got a Schuran Jetskim 150 for my 4x2x2 feet tank after much consideration. All i have to say generally i am satisfied with the performance. However, i feel Beckett still give me more waste than the Schuran. Currently, one of my tank is running a beckett and the other is running a schuran. Tank capacity is similar but the Live stock are different etc. Therefore it will be another 2 months or so before i can conclude safely which skimmer is more effcient. Criteria: Cost of skimmer Wattage of pump used cheers!

Update: First inhabitants: Naso tang (7 inch) Black Line trigger (3.5 inch) Got another 50kg of live rocks for scaping. Yet to fix up the Arctica chiller. Will do it tomorrow.
