Can i just use a ball valve to regulate the flow back to main tank on the return line??? Just need to know what's the reason of Tee to one of the sump compartment. If i just use a ball valve i have less item to assemble (T-joint,piping hose)

Have just completed my DIY overflow using siphone method and of 25mm PVC. However it cannot cope with my pump which is rated around 5000L/hr to have a high turnover of water. The main tank water keep rising and sump level keep dropping. So is there calculation for flowrate on 25mm PVC? What size should i use then?

Intend to upgrade my skimmer and narrow down to 2 skimmer. 1 is the Macro AS200P needlewheel and 2 is AquaC EV120. Each has his strong points don't know which to choose. Any bros can give comment on this 2 skimmer?

My FOWLR tank water keep dropping everyday even i don't on my AC fan. Was thinking of putting an Acyrlic or glass cover on top of the tank since light is not important in FOWLR. Will it helps??? Which is better glass or acyrlic cover????

Have try 2 different pump on this skimmer and keep getting green watery skimate. Is this normal???? The model rated pump rate is 400G/hr or 1500L/hr. 1st pump is atman 104 (1800 l/hr) & 2nd pump is DYMAX PH2500 (2500l/hr) results is green watery skimate. Can any bros advice me at least to get the skimate not watery type? Have adjusted the water level from the recommended wavy line till 1 inch below the collection cup.

have try using a stronger pump from atman 104 to dymax 2500. Not much luck. By the way anyway to improve the bubbles for the weipro????

How the macro venturi compare to weipro in terms of performance and cost?

Have almost given up on my hang on Weipro 2012 due to its performance. Which skimmer(hang on) is of better performance for less than $200. Mine a 3ft FOWLR. Thanks.
