  1. I sort of agree with this statement. If you are going to add moe live rock, do it SLOWLY, like 1kg at a time, then leave it for a week or so, then add another kg... that will minimise any NH3 etc from any mini cycles. But aside from that you can add as much rock as you want!
  2. He left one other chemical that works an absolute treat... hydrochloric acid. You find it at your hardware store in the paint section... they use it to prepare surfaces for painting etc. Anyway, get some HCl acid, draw it into a syringe with a needle, and inject the needle into the mouth of the aiptasia. Then a little squirt and watch it bubble away! One warning, have a decent flow around the aiptasia prior to injecting, and make sure that there are no critters on the rock etc around it. And also be careful with this stuff, use gloves etc. Another great method if you can get the rock out of the tank is fire. be it from a match, a lighter or whatever, it works well too... and the 'pop' sound when they are 'cooked' is very therapeutic
  3. Thanks Moxa, Unfortunately it doesn't help... need someone to actually write a kanji for me if possible! Might be a long shot given this is a Singaporean forum, but you never know!
  4. Hi everyone, Looking to get a new tattoo, and want to get it done in Kanji script (or katakana or the like). If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
  5. What they said... hope you all have a day/night full of celebration!
  6. Depends on how many doors and windows he has
  7. 1000 litre tank, running two Oceans Motions 4 ways each splitting to 8 outlets. 1 has 6 outlets on at any given time, the other 4. The closed loop return to 4 outlets at once, 6 mounted in the bottom pane of glass, 2 in the rear panel The return pumps run to a manifold across the top, into 8 outlets all with Oceans Motions revolutions fitted. Sequence pumps driving both closed loop and return, totalling up to about 40000 litres per hour after headlosses etc... so 40x tank turnover, with not a powerhead or pump in sight in the tank
  8. Hi everyone, for the welcome... I live in Melbourne (well the outer suburbs of Melbourne) in the Dandenong Ranges. Currently in the process of bringing a 6 x 2.5 x 2.5 tank online, and have a 3' holding tank with a pair of Yellow barred Premnas biaculatus clowns, a Centropyge argi, and a tiny juvenile Pomacanthus imperator. I work for GlaxoSmothKline, which is why I am coming over there for work, I will be spending a lot of time in Jurong and Quality Road. I am an IT person by trade AT, would love to check out your tank... it looks awesome from the pics. If people want to catch up for dinner or a few drinks something, I would be up for that too! As for the Open, Flash & Clear, I think Open, FRAG & Clear would be far more beneficial in this circumstance, as everyone can share the spoils then!
  9. Hi everyone, Just thought I would drop a quick note to say hello from Australia. I have been a lurker on this board for a while now, but thought I better join to boost member stats! I am coming over to Singapore for a month with work in April... would love to catch up with some of you guys and check out your tanks if possible. Anyhow, that's enough for now... later
