Hi, I hav the above test kit, but without manual. As such after measuring the color from Blue to Yellow, I am not able to tell what my KH is. Anybody can help to advice if I have 9 drops to turn the color, what is my KH value. Also, if you could advice me what is the standard number of drops I must achived. Appreciate your help.

Hi Reefers, can I check whether reefer mix different sand in the tank or lay them in layer? If layer, which type will be first to start, ie starting from the bottom tank. Appreciate your advice and info.

It had been 2 weeks since QT....the fish are all becoming well...very tempted to put the fish back into the Main Tank. Frankly, I believed the invertes in the Main Tank misses the fishes coz no dentris to eat. hahaha! But I must endure (5/6 weeks more) coz I dun want the fish to suffer again...lost a warrse, Mandrain Goby & PBT to the ich.... I hope this lesson tells everyone that all must QT their new fish and be very careful when adding new fish to the Main tank.

For QT Tank, the setup depends on the fish u r QT. A piece of LR is good as to let the fish hide when they are scare....as for the water, u can reused the old water from your main tank. As for the filteration...a Canister or overhead is good enough, as long as the water is clean. Good to have circulation pump. Hope this help.

May I ask is the LR has the following: 1. Is it Cured? How long you have the LR in ur tank? 2. does it have Coraline Alage? 3. does it have macro Alage growing on it? I know i am aksing for too much, but I am trying to grow macro Alage on LR in a separate tank, therefore triying to accumulate LR. Please PM me. Thanks.

Copper treatment, very deadly. U must clean your fish throughly b4 rtn them back to main tank. Copper can kill Coral and inverts.

Updates: I have using HYPO for 1+ week and all my fish had recovered, not seeing any spot or itch on them. They are eating perfectly with the pellet soak in Garlic Guard. I will continue to endure for another 6 weeks before I transfer them back to main tank. Currently the Main tank only have Shrimp, Star Fish, Hermit Crabs, Snail and tube worms. They are really lonely without fish and no debris to feed on. They are starting to eat all the Algae on the rocks. Will continue to update.

Hi Anthony, Thanks for the Coral Chips... I had a friend whom have a tank leak...he had gone around asking and the conclusion is that you need to removed the old silicon and re-glue it back with new silicon. It is pointless as new silicon will not attached itself to the old ones and you will experience another leak if you do that. just my 2 cents worth of advice. take care.

Hi seamonkey, Mine too, only Blue Tang & Mandrain Goby seem to have White Spot, the rest looks okay, but who know when they will had it, once their immunity is low. I am doing Hypo now, waiting for 2 months to have the main tank cleared of Itch/White Spot Bacteria. Currently, the fish in Hypo looks good, only that their playground from 4ft now shrink to 1.5ft....

Hi, Hope any reefer can advice. I have been dosing PH buffer 8.3 and baking powder, but after testing my PH using aquapharm, it seem to be always at 7.9 As my tank is 4ftx1.5x1.5, I dose about 7 capful of PH Buffer, tried twice, and it is still at 7.9. Wondering is there something wrong? I also used Baking Powder (Armstrong), dose for 3 days consecutively with about 2 tablespoon each time, still the same result. Please help and advice howcan I achieve 8.3. Note: Testing is done during off-light (in the morning)

Hi, I am currently performing HypoSalinity(Hospital) for all the fish. Currently residing in the Main Tank now: 1. Shrimp 2. Hermit Crab 3. Snail 4. Anemone 5. Tube Worm 6. Turtle weed 7. Star Fish Question: 1. Do I need to removed any of the above to ensure that the Itch/White Spot bacteria will died off in 8 weeks? 2. Can I put LR in the Hospital? Will the low salinity kill the LR? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Can I throw a couple of Garlic into the tank? Does this help? If not, what about squeeze garlic juice? Will this kill LS?

I am feeding it with Formula one with Garlic added..does that help?
