Hi, I have read some article on the Setup of New Marine Tank. In the article, it state that 6500K bulb is better and last longer than 10000K, 12000K and above. So is it true within the context now? Coz a lot of light bulb selling is 12000K or 14000K. Is there a change in technology? or Should i still go for 6500K? Also, noted that with 10000K and above, the light is White-Blue, in that case, if I have that bulb, can I switch off the Blue light and i will get a White light? Please advice.

Hi Bro, I have just tested my Parameters as stated above: Calcium = 484ppm mg/l (ppm) Mag = 1160 mg/l (ppm) Also my DKH (Sera Test Kit) = 7 DKH Qns: 1. How to reduce Calcium? 2. How to increase Mag (using Epsom Salt)? 3. How to increase DKH? Increase Kalk topping? If I do point 3, won't it increase my point 1? Any advice?

Actually, i have experience this with my old setup...The only time, I saw skimmate was the initial setup of old tank. Then it disappeared suddenly. Not sure why? Tried tuning the Air Valve but dun seems to work

Picture Resize... Sorry to said that I have a friend whom have 5ft with the same setup of wall cabinet from floor to ceiling and I think cost less than $4000. I think yours is a EXPENSIVE. Anyway, since it is done, what you can do is to buy a good skimmer, more Live Rocks, upgrade the light, have a SUMP with overflow (not sure u have it?). This will help you kick start the tank. Bro, bro...Talking about sugar, I have tried it for my 4ft tank (450L)with 3 spoon of sugar. it takes 24 hrs to clear and skimmer skim like hell. The good thing abt sugar, it will bring NO3 down, from my observation, if u dun continue to dose, the LS might be afftected in the long run (not sure why, but it happened). So the husbandary of reefing still the best. Yes, PH will definitly drop but it will be back, maybe the shocked killed ur fish. Moreover, 1 teaspoon to ur tank is too much. Take care now and dun be sad. Continue the reefing, the rewards will be achieved in the long run. Cheers!
