Hi Seniors, May I know when you mentioned about bacteria dosing, what are the brands and type you used and recommend? How do I know that I am doing the correct dose and bacteria are thriving? I have dose bacteria in my tank (no LS still cycling for many moons) and dump a few piece of chop prawn, I see the prawn are turning red and rot. Does that means there are bacteria decomposed the prawn? Thanks! Kelvin Lim

A good cause, however need to ensure the reefer taking it must really spend time on it as sub coral require food and target feeding. This is unlike other corals.

Hi All Seniors, I would like to ask I have a refugium with cheato growing, the tank is close to 1feet deep and I have a 10w LED Daylight running 24hrs. I am slowly seeing the cheato turning from Green to very light green. I am worry it will turn white and die off. My question, is the water too deep or I need a shallow water to run a refugium? Is my light strong enough to penetrate to the cheato? pls advise and appreciate. Thanks! Kelvin Lim

Wahahaha David, after seeing the thread about them fighting. Haiz, every tank are different and everything have their place. Whether a fuge, skimmer, ATS or anything that helps to reduce NO3 and PO4 is good. I believed to keep the water balance, beside residing using all this method, water change is important as our tank are contained unlike the big Ocean. Hence a good husbandry will make the fish, coral and owner happy. Just my 2c. Thanks! Kelvin Lim

I think red is because I had too much phosphate. Waiting to get test kits to test. Green will come only if I have live stocks. I have non now. But at least it captured the red so my DT is clean from any no good algae. Thanks David and will monitor. Still need skimmer as ATS is not magic formula.

Using 2 x 27w, warm white light to provide the lighting for 12 hours a day. The first week result. Tank only with dead sand and dead rocks. The other side.

I have started a DIY of ATS 3 weeks back. I was guided by a kind reefer, Mike. He has not just showed but explained and shared his ATS experienced. Hence I also would like to contribute to the community if of any help. I know that there are many experienced reefer that has done a great ATS for past few years. Kudos to those that has shared their joy and pain. Anyway let me start off. I have used my IOS flow to attached the ATS to it in the sump. After talking to Mike, I used his picture and went down to Serangoon pet shop area to fabricate the piping needed. I have used Mike picture as I did not take mine. Credit to Mike. Mike have me a net which he brought extra from Artworks. He helped me using the hole saw to roughen the net. I came back connect ye pipe to my existing downstream piping with the net. I used some algae from Mike and used it to start up quicker as I read from Santa Monica site.

Tact on the thread. Does watts matter? Eg 5w or 15w matters?

Actually I did not do any test or dose anything to the Pure water. Any bro here did any test on this water as this water is quite common in Ntuc or office water dispensing machine. Hope someone can share some light to me. Thanks and appreciate your feedback.

Our inflation is always upz and salary increment and etc will not be able to chase up. Salary is like a old man, whereas inflation is like teenager, we will never chase up with them. Haiz:((
