A good LED bulb and ballast itself is not cheap, which is the main reason why LED lighting is still so expensive after so long even if you try getting those D.I.Y unit.. maybe with the increase of the numbers of reefer changing into LED lighting, prices will then start to fall.. it is just like T5 lighting use to cost alot when it just started, but slowly when more and more people started using it price begin to falll and it is more affordable now.

Wow.. Nice D.I.Y on your LEDs... maybe you could consider adding a heat sink at the back of your LED panels.. since heat is the killer for LEDs bulb..
