  1. Thanks Jack! Your work and character have been a great inspiration to me. From what I can gather, it looks like some Rhodactis Hairy Mushroom. It was given to me from the previous owner. Picture taken from http://www.liveaquaria.com/ The picture on the bottom right look at least 90% identical.
  2. Why not consider a Tamron 90mm f2.8?
  3. No lar, old liao... Last time climb mountain bash jungle to shoot butts also no problem...
  4. Nikon D300 Sigma 150mm f2.8 SB800
  5. Thanks, haven't shoot for sometime after my wrist injury.... camera set up prove too heavy for me now.... hand trembling like shooting GPMG.... Its just the $2 clowns I got from Iwarna yesterday...
  6. I think the power consumption bounced quite a bit after activation of scrubber set. Will monitor the 24hrs reading again tomorrow. Mean while, took some quick shots today before the batteries ran dry....
  7. I agree, I also feel that silicon is usually the failing point in tanks unused for sometime.
  8. Just wondering, I suspect they are using fresh water for the calculation. And the safety factor recommended is already 3.8 as per the website. Should we increase the safety factor for marine since salt water have higher density?
  9. I doubt anyone will give you assurance you are safe, even new tank can spell sh*t. As you are using an old tank, you may have to take the quality and age of the tank into considerations. On top of that, silicon on tanks are known to deteriorate if it is used and kept "dry" for sometime. Hope this helps.
  10. Yea, I am in AQ too. YEMV="Your experience may varies".
  11. I ran one of those tank for about 6 months before upgrading to a 3 footer. Seems to be OK, but YEMV. Your concern should be on water parameters as its swings extremely fast, especially if you are using fan. My 2cts.
  12. Installed a digital meter to find out the actual power consumed over 24hrs. 4.7kWh from yesterday 2pm to today. From Singapore Powers, per kilo watt hour cost $0.2521 including GST. My daily contribution should increase by about $1.20 and estimate monthly (assuming 30 days) of about $35 (including GST). Is this reasonable for a 3 footer?
  13. Thanks bro, Just gave to Iwarna Bought a pair of tiny clowns, 3 hermit crabs and some leather corals. Won't be adding more live stock for the some time.
  14. Thank you very much! I guess I will give it to Iwarna later when I visit them!
  15. Couldn't find it from the net. Want to give it away but don't know what fish this is. The previous owner give it to me and it seems pretty aggressive and extremely agile. Only manage to catch it after draining 80% of the tank's water. Thanks a lot! PS: Please help ID it fast, its still in the tub as I am typing.
  16. Sorry for a stupid question. Other than the price, what so special about True Percula Clown? I mean I am looking forward to a pair of clown fish and hopefully bright orange color.... would Ocellaris Clownfish be a good choice? PS: Ocellaris Clownfish should be cheaper right?
  17. Just some updates: Added 250w MH light. Added a Tunze Wavebox nano and Tunze 6026 Added live rocks from my existing holding tank, decomming holding tank soon... Rocks were slightly rearrange for caves as priority. The Tunze 6025 aims directly into one on the main access of the caves to create flow within. I like the new MH lights added, the colour is nice Now to search for a cheap'o pump and my purchase for equipments shall be complete (for now, at least) Was monitoring the power with a digital device, about 500w when chiller is running
  18. Yeah... thanks for your support, which explains why I am getting a used MH light for the time being....
  19. Yeah, I am still fighting mentally to buy a LED light for my tank or a triple level Mcdonald bed for my children.... they still sleeping on the floor.....
  20. I won't be in Singapore that weekend.... Going snorkeling trip with family.
  21. Personally, I find it pretty noisy compared to Aquabee. My HF17 have a constant humming sound. I can't hear it usually as the water splashes sounds supersedes it. Another thing to note is the ratings, they published are at 0 losses. I am not sure about other brands but my AquaBee 3000L is definitely stronger than my Rio. Rio HyperFlow magnetic drive aqua pump HF 17 Flow rate :4500l/hr (0cm); 4140l/hr (30cm); 3190l/hr(120cm); 2500l/hr(180cm) Max head : 310 cm I believe the hose is about 3m and passes through the chiller. Maybe someone can share some experience with this as well.
