Beach?? which one?? ive seen sea lettuce and the red algae ipsf.com sold as "Tang Heaven" in T95 quite offen.. didnt have luck with the latter one its alot cheaper than what u've to pay in the state tho. -

>I hear that caulerpa also goes sexual monthly and releases all it stored > nutrients right back into the system. (???) yea .. u can reduce that possibility by providing 24/7 lighting period -

I only have 3 1/2 months experience with sponge. They're probably the fastest growing visible organism in my tank. It is placed in area where they dont get too much light (Place where light is not enough to allow hairalgae growth) i heard they do consume silicate .. i hope to employ more of it to act as a nature filter against diatom. The following pic was taken on Dec 13th 2002 What i currently feed: Marc Weiss BlackPowder!! SprayDried Phytoplankton from TLF

can't get LR? hm.. ORCA (or OCRA..dont remember) Skimmer is good enough for 2ft tank ($20+ without pump) then of coz if u prefer something that is not in-tank .. go for Red Sea Prizm ($200+ with pump) no replacement of airstone needed. theres prob a lot more skimmer available in SG suitable for 2ft tank cant give u more detail coz ive been skimmer-less & mechanical-filter-less for sometime.

Hi, are u a Singaporean? How did u managed to get DT? it must be costly to import it over here in icebox
-
Yea .. using mandrain for this is a hit & miss thing maybe mine really hates flatworm
-
Yep.. never regretted adding the sump convertion of my FOWLR tank to reef tank may not even be possible without it
-
Er one question .. doesnt mandrain consume flatworm? thats how i got rid of mine

This is what i meant liverock + powerhead + protein skimmer (its actaully my tank 1 1/2 years ago) ive a tiny sanda piccolo skimmer on the left side of the tank... does a decent job for 15g tank The tang is a gonner .. clown is still alive
-
Em.. those things that u mount on the side of your aquarium that creates current in your tank. they've some pic at http://www.eaquanature.com/storeindexordering.htm liverock act as a biofilter good enu for fish over tank (normally we would call it FOWLR - Fish Only With LiveRock) , provided that u bring enu current to them .. so powerhead is quite essential. U can do away with canister filter with this kindof setup.

Ive a good friend who is travelling to Thailand tmr for some betta business hes a friend of Tsukahara San pacificbetta: he lives around our area too .. incase u wanna get some of hes line .. contact me were u involved in the competition held in dec 2002 ? heard the winning fish was bough from Thailand.. not locally bred.

Hey u japan freak ... (j/k) check out http://www.cpfarm.com/ too
-
kentkent: u could get good amount of LR for 2ft with $50 or less, and maybe another $30 for a powerhead. No changing of filter media & stuff. They serve as deco as well. U can still find LR at $5/kg Some LR shops r selling looks more like dying mushroom rock .. maybe they'r selling their "handle corals" rock as LR
-
[2] Nature reefs do get strong current day & nite .. why turn it off? Corals feed at nite too.. so why not bring the food to them? My seafan opens up mostly after lightsout .. any idea why? my powerhead runs 24/7

never had canister filter b 4.. i dont see why u could not run both skimmer & canister together... skimmer will aid in mechanical filtration but whats your budget for the canister filter? i would prob get liverock & stuff with that much of $
