  9. Hi what is your PO4 & NO3 reading? need to keep them in balance (according to RedField chart) read more about it at http://www.xs4all.nl/~buddendo/aquarium/redfield_eng.htm hair algae indicates that ur PO4 & NO3 reading may be around the green region of the chart Ive tested long spined urchin & trochus snails against HA .. they'll consume it readily .. and both r commonly available in Singapore ... both are pretty safe for reef tank, unless of coz u're trying to maintain macroalgae .. which the urchin will take readily as well.. WOW...this is such dated post!!! argh.. cowbox .. why did u reply?? hehe got misled..heh
  10. Wow! im not so susprise! Google is cool and make no mistake about it
  11. ah nah... the details provided by google earth is not good enu for strategic planning of terror activities.. its not as updated anyway not too sure about Google Earth Plus tho, heard its more real time...
  12. Lots of horses ... how about some full tank shot? where did u get them from btw? im looking at getting few Reposting of resized pic
  13. hm.. yea..will keep a look out for white color plastic chopsticks ive the same idea as well, just that i'll prefer to tie some brown macroalgae onto it
  14. coz i thought it'll look more natural
  15. DIY hitching post consist of wooden chop stick tied to plastic rope (dont rem what u call them)
  16. Added artificial coral Added another DIY hitching post
  17. Thanks iamtoh!! very useful chart. but i cannot minimize nutrients as best as i can because im trying to do marine planted tank..guess it'll be a balancing act
  18. Yea..back after 2 years of NS.. anyway.. the temp has dropped to 28c so aStRoBo|, when will u be serving the nation ?
  19. Agree with your points! my only concern is that they'll grow over other stuff im trying to keep and inhabitat their growth.. ive 1/3 of my sandbed covered with hairalgae, but my pods populations seems to be thriving as well (after ive removed the fishes) Of coz i do find them astatically unpleasant, so i am trying to boost the growth of my macroalgae by supplementing with iron hoping that they'll outgrow the micro so to conclude, i do not see it as a tank crash, end of lifespan, time to restart..etc its just a natural process that has to happen for good reasons.. and i'll take time to get it under control.. of coz i can just throw in lots of trochus snails + long spined urchin.. but that'll spell the end of my macroalgae too
  20. ouch... does most ppl run their SH tank at 24-25°c ?
  21. the diatom will not be my biggest concern actaully... because im a newbie in SH keeping.. i wanna avoid diseases that they may contact.. UV is actaully a gd idea.. Thanks sis
  22. i dont have access to RO/DI anyway ive started dosing iron suppliment.. hoping that that will bring a balace environment for the macro to outgrow the micro
  23. Hopefully i'll be able to get CB seahorses when the diatom on my sandbed has cleared up meanwhile im trying to get the macroalgae to grow onto adjacent rock/sand.. thick growth of algae will be suitable "feeding station" for SH .. coz it should be able to hold on to the food that i'll be tossing in Finally please provide constructive comments
