try L35, Pasir Ris farmway 2, Singapore 510000....1st shop in 1st roll- Small equipment/fresh water store. I got mine from him. ( I dont have his card, using the address from Pacific reef, his neighbour

like i mentioned, dont keep herbivores in the same place, as chaeto's...no snails, no urchins (as advised by my chaeto supplier,,,,hehe...keep good flow, good lighting especially, and pretty soon the amphipods will be eating up the brown stuffs !!
-
these are grown next to a window (in my mangrove planter-I design it! after 6 months contemplation!) strands are thicker, but dont get much growth -mass wise.got them just lying on the shallow sandbed- deviating-----Some red mangroves and Api-api putih (Avicennia alba) pods that i am experimenting on ....these are faster in sprouting...trick to mangrove, spray the top - simulating rain......they seems to love it
-
just my method (after 1 month trial and no error so far......hopefully) I plan to harvest half of this next week, BTW I push all the chaeto to the front . so not as dense as it looks.Would say the 24/7 photoperiod is working well for me, get some brownish stuff growing on glass, but can live with that.

Hey,Corsair....I got a batch of chaeto a month ago from guy in forum, had 75% of that in my refugium (24 hrs 2x two feet T-5 , 6500k) and the the rest into my "natural light" , near the window mangrove planter.Any-how the ones in my refugium doubled in mass as I keep a good flow runnning thru them.. as compared to the "natural light" ones ,which are greener and strands are fatter! but i dont get that same mass in growth. These are resting on my shallow sand bed with good flow as well,I use DI water for my salt mix, and as I tend to over stock/overfeed...alway had a high phosphates reading! My chaeto are doing very well indeed. (in same refugium, I have some ulva, red grapes - and an octopus! deviating!!!.......advice keep longer photo period, good flow over the chaeto.I anchored mine with clean un-used satay sticks!Keep herbivores away -esp.urchins

Hey BH, I can only speak for myself on this.(1 year into this hobby)and I have learnt alot from this club/forum and other web sites.Personally have contributed some insights on couple of issues here.Take it from me; don't take comments too seriously , (everyone is entitled to their own opinion -who gives a shit ! ...I Met you at the aquarama , and communicated here with you on various topics. Think you have done well in this hobby. But dont walk away from this,if it is over a couple of guys bothering you.The world is bigger than them!If you are concentrating on your studies, then so be it.But dude!dont walk away just when you are one of the guys here making the club a significant feature! well you deserve some accolade -You got my respect and support here.( was looking forward to that club meeting !

Using POPE garden sprinkler system for this part. Using the hose to join them together.Inserting the elbow in was tricky. RAIN STOP , so can repair my Patio roof leak with the black silicon as well as join the overflow boxes together...happiness!!!

spent the week thinking of wasy of re-using the pump. as the problem of 'break siphon due to air-pockets is in my mind constantly. Thought of attaching the pump to base, fit the outlet to the 2 siphon tubes, and "force' the air pocket out if they are gathering (maybe I use a float switch as well ...any brothers here know where I can buy a 12volt relay?- dont want to have the risk of 240v running free in the water!)
-
Heres a close up, was using a plastic coffee strainer from cold storage, brown rim, white net, but the seams is not strong, break apart easily , this one is much better
-
I used this net from fresh water fish shop, they use it for daphnia. Works well, for the top swimming rotifers
-
I used smaller "siphon" U-tubes to tweak the tanks water levels...the only issue I have so far is when plants debris get choke on the JEBO flow control trap, i plan to remove that to increase that bottle neck, or place a net to trap water intake before getting suck in thru the Jebo intake tube.

WRONG MODEL FOR RETURN PUMPS ; OOPS!!! hey guys, I made a boo boo, I posted wrong pump for the return. (threw the box away ,when I installed the 2x dymax pumps) anyway, the ones in my tanks are the EPH2000 ones.....and not the oversized EPH 3000, apologies
-
I use a series of small air tube lines (siphon) as "fine tuning for equalizing the volume/levels of water in the tanks!! sounds complicated but, actually easy to adjust. The side of dymax pumps outlet has a airtube connector (for bubbles) you need to attach a air tube to direct water flow to the desired tank , I mean if you have 2, easy ( I have 5 separate tanks to control!) 5th is a mangrove nursery that I have incorporated

I have a set of 3 cannister filter (DIY) with filtration down to 1 micron. Plan to mix up a batch of salt mix , leave over nite with air-pump,small internal circulation pump going. Also have a algal disk left over from previous attempt at phytoplankton coke bottle culturing (culture crashed due to poor maintenance!) , though of this out in the sun concept as we enjoy very good sun light (my koi pond was overtaken by green algaes!!!). But plan initially to keep a part of the urn under shade -keep it cooler than under the direct sunlight -

have a circular tempered glass top already from mistake of glass cutter (drilled hole too small for a table-top) have all the raw ingredients save for the NSW to start culturing, just need to know if feasible- as our sun quite intense. But if koi pond water was super green!! should do wonders for marine life!
-
Am exploring the possibility of utilizing chinese urns (easily available this time of year at Chinese new year fairs) to culture food for my tank.Using natural sea water and a pump to aereate /circulate the water. Harness natural sunlight to encourage photosynthesis so as to get green water to feed my marine tank? Just an idea/ feasibility checks from brothers here before committing time /effort in it. Not too sure of temperature issues. (had a koi pond before- algae boom like crazy in it!)
-
wow dude, just went to your website, you got a really neat layout- equipment and all. kudos to you pal!
-
black sea cucumber can help clean the sand beds, short spikes sea urchin for the rocks, fox face fish to help peck on the growing algaes
-
1) Do name us a list of sea critters in your tank, do you have sea urchin, especially the long black spikes type? they will scrape the coralline algae from the rocks! If you must get the shorter spikes variety 2) what is the kind of lighting system you have on and what is the photo period you have on?

Hey thanks for the encouragement JEM, will post the development of it once I find time to work on it. Hope I a not using too much of the space on the server to show these pics...
