  1. 2 Boxes of Chaeto -algae left! to clear by this week. (Tuesday -tomorrow) main collection at United Square -Thomson Road ,if anyone else want get it from me. Needs advance notice, so the algae will be in pristine condition.
  2. ***Deal Sweetener : for fellow reefers that are taking up my chaeto's; I am sure some amphipods will hitch hike onto the chaeto...will make sure some are in there. As my refugium is full of them now without natural predators. LINK TO MY POST ON CHAETO /CARE : http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...=0entry514528 Link to amphipods benefits! http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-09/rs/
  3. 2 CHAETO boxes taken - 4 left, Octo being reserved by reefer: M203 the octo is the size of a sunny side up egg when at rest.but each tentacle can extend to 20 cm for him to grap his food!, as you can see he is residing in his den of rocks.well camouflaged. I use a long satay stick to lure/feed him. Give me a good fight everytime for possession of the stick!
  4. 1)Harvesting my chaetomorpha algae -selling per box $10/- ;as per picture 2) Selling my pet-octopus for $30/- (to pay for his room and board!) Ideal collection places : 1) United Square at Thomson Road (Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm) 2) Tanah Merah -MRT weekends -preferably in evening to later at night 3) Kembangan-nearer the Chai Chee side......on Sunday late afternoon... Please PM me on your choice of item, place and time of pick up...i got 6 boxes to go on the algae, but only 1 octopus
  5. I got postphoned 2 days, but could wait! Self collect both time, bring your own material for car transport, he gave me a foam base too ! but safer to ask in advance for him.
  6. Dont forget when you ship/mail /courier it in, you may need to pay taxes! I recently purchase some samurai swords on a US website.Had to collect it from Sing Post at Eunos, and declare them at Outram Police station....anyway after the foreign exchange conversion, GST, if it is still worth the while-go ahead!but if savings marginal, better get from local supplier that can at least give you some sort of warranty
  7. I highly recommend him! I have seen some of his work (main tank ard 5 feet by 3 feet) for other people in his shop. I customised 2 sump type tanks from him...each ard $60/- 3 feet by 2 feet approximately. He is the frame making shop 2 shops into the carpark (next to the famous Sungei Road coffee shop laksa).Good deal if you ask me...takes him 2 days to make it- due to work load
  8. Get only the Black sea cucumber! they are quite versatile, directing some flow on the sand bed helps prevents some detritus from settling there. But of cos bear in mind the "pressure" on the corals there if you have any placed there, they may not like the current and thus wont open up!
  9. I change the fresh water displays once in 5 weeks! only because the green algae forms on the glass. I like to change the sea water aiptasia and chaeto display's every weekend, using my old tank water. As my home enjoys good natural sunlight during the day I tend to leave the displays as they are.I don't dose , except feed the aiptasia every other day with frozen brine shrimp or bits or market prawns, since I am feeding main tank anyway!.This guy is ravernous! just gobble up the bits so very quick.Interesting to see the food in its transparent gut!
  10. I am planning to harvest the chaeto, they double in mass after 1 and half month, free float/tumble...like very good flow and lots of lighthing. I bought mine from guy in tampines at $10- so will sell at same price and quantity. like a plastic lunch box full.(those they use at hawker centre to tar pow your chicken rice! check out this post.as I have answered some question from others on chaeto's propagation http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...ic=44468&st=0
  11. Hi, many shops do carry them regularly...1 at Bedok "Tropical Fish shop or something at Bedok North , Reborn at lavendar , The LFS at Pasir Ris, need to provide long photo period to prevent them from going asexual, that is turn white and die! polluting your water further! Otherwise, they prefer low flow, why dont you try chaetomorpha instead? Works well for me
  12. Can some one please ID this anemone for me? been trying to search with no good result
  13. BEEN 3 WEEKS ,and pics taken just 10 minutes ago, working out well.Originally I was hanging fresh water plants in my living area for display, now I have the aiptasia, chaeto displayed...changed the water weekly, and fed the aiptasia every other day.Fun to watch ,afterall.....better than just killing them! now I have scattered some pieces of rock so that I can catch the rose anemone babies via same method of capture as well.
  14. was very successful with my chaeto propagation in my refugium, so displayed my chaeto as well
  15. was trying to get rid of some bad Aiptasia "Glass Anemones" that hitch hike it's way into my tank via live rocks. Was squirting with a needle full of anti-aiptasia solution, but that failed..the best way of gettting rid of them is via scattering small pieces of rocks and letting the aiptasia settle on them! they migrate easily! same goes for my Rose anemone babies! Anyhow I scrape a specimen ff -very messy, and came up with this idea of ;why not display them instead?
  16. I have it for 2 months now, and am feeding it a market prawn a day, you dont need to to deshell them, cos he will pick it clean- and I mean clean!I dangle a piece of it to lure him out with a satay stick as you can see (REQUIRE A GOOD TANK WITH SPACE FOR HIM TO GROW) -still training him to unscrew a jar to get food out!
  17. I got a lovely smart ,healthy octopus (reason for sale- he has out grown my intended refugium tank .Also moving my rocks around) Sale to the highest bidder - Collection 1) United Square weekdays) 2)Bedok weekends .......... 3)any other location in middle of travel to this 2 place,as I drives to work -In the middle of picture.lightly camouflaged!

  19. hey !CKS , like the mangroves? ....yes Corsair you would have to trim the "overgrown" chaeto to make room, after all in One and a half month , it will double in size! like mine did.I just split the chaeto into 3 parts-didn't expect it to grow that fast( any additional will probably feed them to my main tank crtitters ) 1 part of them went into my "planted tank' alongside my growing caulerpa algae-(these receive onlly 14 hrs photoperiods ) http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41578&st=15
  20. I had same issues before ; 1) I used filter wool to (smoothen the cascading sound) place on overflow lip 2) Also installed a "durso type " elbow, t-joint, 3) At the outlet end , I use a clean clear plastic bag-(recycled from trips to LFS) cut-off the end, held in place to outlet pipe by rubberbands which I change periodically. This help to reduce th gargling sound alot!
  21. Hi , you are referring to Chaetomorpha Spp (spaghetti macroalgae) - Please refer to my post to corsair http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...=0entry514066
