so much changes since i visited, btw, you mentioned the overflow is top bottom concept. from the pictures, seems like an external overflow from the top only. or did i missed something? :> Also my past experience with bottom flow is that it gets clogged up over time.. algae growth, messy stuff.. how its with yours now? still able to suck up detritus?

Feel for ya. For the door. U can just adjust the hinges. For the higher side, tighten the screw on the top hinge. It should move the door downwards.
