  2. Lautenbrunen, Yes.. in terms of rated power consumed.. it's close to 5x39w t5.. but I felt the dimming effect gradually is interesting enough as I get to see the "mood" of the tank at various times of the night. Also, my tank is next to my window, I believe it gets enough sunlight in the day.. I'm running 100% for only 2 hours.. the rest of the times it gets dimmed towards 50%.. 3. Dillema on whether to do euro bracing.. From the shallow height.. 10mm should not have any bowing.. Pro.. sleek look.. Cons.. I'm rough when doing cleaning.. I'm sure tank water will overflow when cleaning.. Any other considerations? Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Decided to change tank size to 30X30x12. Rimless acrylic 10mm tank.. Consideration due to the intent to reuse existing equipment.. I've got 2x mp10.. So Max thickness will be 10mm.. My maxspect razor will b stretched covering 30inches.. else will go for 36x36.. didn't want to spend to get additional lights.. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2

  8. No too diff Bro.. drain water into Jerry cans can hold 30l each.. then once 20% left, move tank then drain back into tank.. corals will not be a problem if outside water a while.. 10. Applying from my culinary experience.. " seasoning to taste;".. u can add additives if insufficient, but u can't take out if overdosed. I don't make adjustments to parameters I can't measure.. hope it helps Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2

  15. Then again.. I'm only growing lps.. n gsp.. just so not to mislead reefers ... I will believe still it's a choice and selection of livestock that eventually matters.. Sure I also envy others with super colorful sticks.. ha hahaaa.. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
  16. Am running maxspect razor.. I don't think it adds much if any heat. Home is usually breezy and lights are mounted above 1feet that has quite a bit of ventilation .. I only have a pump in the sump plumbed submerged when stopped.. above water (for air cooling) when running. Then again.. my tesino pump doesn't run hot to the touch under usual operations.. I will guess the heat contributer probably comes from refugium lighting.. but then it's only a 9w Philip bulb.. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Today's addition.. So far.. I've powered off my chiller for trials.. for the whole of today.. temperature is 27.8 average..hmm. I might relegate my chiller to kick in @28 for precautionary measures.. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2

  25. 20 Aug: finally managed to get a consistent daily readings from the seneye monitor. The device captures data at 30 mins intervals. From the data, it seems the the following applies to my setup: 1. Setting on suspect to kick in at 27.5 degrees to chill down to 27 degrees takes 45 mins. 2. Suspect kicks in 10 times daily. 3. together with the power meter measure this will mean that the monthly operating cost for running my chiller will be $12.11 Next: Will an addition of a fan helps?
