omg....triple whopper...anymore interesting pics ? -
I agree on this point...i wish i had received this advise earlier. End up , thought by buying 2nd hand can save some money but never research enough, In the end, it's not something that really suit my purpose or work well. Therefore, do your research (properly) Once research properly done and if not sure get more opinions from more insightful bros, the next step is to dare to spend and ahve faith your equipment will work for you =) Dare to spend more now, stops you from realising the need to upgrade later and spending more money. Best of luck!

haha...ok...glad I managed to interpret it. Guess sometimes we're all too lazy to use proper english, then somtimes the problem simple simple become got dragon got tiger. Anyway yea..good luck with your pump problem, need suggestions for what to place as a mat can use filter foam/sponge, old mouse pads, small piece of astro turf....
-
think basically what somebody is trying to say is that if the noise originates from the pump vibrating or knocking against a wall/surface, then using foam or padding will reduce it BUT if it's coming from inside the pump itself, the pump may be facing some problems. Correct me if i'm wrong yea?

upz + thanks to those who have shown interest!

omg looks so cute..like the miniature version of what some toilets use to dry their floors! Max can share where u get it from ? Or mabbe give a rundown on its cooling abilities

in your opinion not enough of what kind of filtration? bio mech or chemi? I personally think chemical coz i don't run carbon at all. I don't think it's the substrate too coz the observation was made in a white cup. i have other 'dead' live rocks and nope no sunlight shining.
-
haha not yours ah? never mind...you're still funny
-
can't really remember how many litres...i think about 9 US gallons...with about 1 inch of sand...a few liverocks...anemone and ocellaris pair with some green yumas.sand is grade 0 and 1 mixed

popped head in after visiting sitex...hmmz...seems like nothing much...mabbe the weekend crowd will be hotter
-
wow...the foam head really looks pretty good! Assuming you're having fun Eudaceous? bubble bath? anyway good to hear you're accustomed to using ozone. Post pics when the skimmate starts collecting yeah? hmmz...now wondering whether worth it to use a 9002 or 9005 in a 2ft...
-
lol muar chee's brick bats are damn farni sia...

can open the image in 'Paint' then find the resize function in one of the options then reduce by percentages...at least that's how i do it. if not can use microsoft photo editor do the same thing. About the lights..if you're going to eventually go anemone, go for t5 ho(high output), your corals will also have more light. however, you gotta watch the heat. seeing ur tank is about 1ft in height, i think the intensity should be no problem but i think temp might be a problem. 40 bucks for t5 is most probably normal output, t5 ho would cost typically in the 100's region for 2 tubes. actually for your depth, i'm not sure but you just might get away using a normal output light set.
-
argh...learn to resize! I think the skimmer needs to be higher...if not skimmate really very light only
-
I really can't wait to see the skimmate(although as they say, skimmate colour doesn't matter but still excited) Anyway Eudaceous, just thought should let you know, was reading on ozone last night and apparently overdosing will cause much reduction in skimmate. Not sure if you read about this before already but just thought that should mention just in case All the best on the new toy!
-
if i'm not wrong the number is the thickness of the tubes with standard fluroscent being t8's.smaller number thinner tube. Can't rem the exact definition, if i'm not wrong t5 means the tube thickness is 5/12 inches. 1.8 feet use 2 feet lighting i guess...suitable lighting depends on what you intend to keep skimmer if using airstone i think keeping it to the back is more pleasing to the eye. higher above the water for darker skimmate. more submerged for lighter. maybe can list what you intend to keep? not senior but hope to be of help

Not trying to hijack, Eudaceous, but just would like people anxious for this review to know that i did something searching at RC(was searching for potential next skimmer the tunze 9002) and apparently it replaces their old series and which was very well received. One post even went as far as to comment that it 'crushes' the Remora. Eud's model being a big brother to the 9002 i'm sure we're gonna be seeing some good stuff here.
