  2. it is known that they will irritate sps for abit. especially you have pairsa, the damage will be more. and please dun spear it. all the best,
  3. chances are the color will come back. check water parameters, temp. and see if the corals are receiving enough light or too much light. either too little or too much will results in coral bleaching. all the best.
  4. bring diarrhea pills. it will comes in handy. enjoy the trip, in my exp, its fun.
  5. sorry to say that, most likely its better for you to live with it.
  6. it should be gone. but do call to check with steven to be sure.
  7. some reference. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...c=82582&hl= and picture reference? check out my tank thread. D90 w/ Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D 1:2 Macro, shooting mostly @ ISO200 or 320.
  8. first question, whats ur budget. and judging from your D90 budget consideration, you can consider Canon: 500D, 50D (a few hundreds more) Nikon: D5000, love the multi angel live view. personally i like my D90 but i will like it even more if theres higher ISO and if i want to upgrade, i will go D700 if i have spare cash to spend. if u are serious about diving taking picture etc, get a high ISO performance like the D700. that if u have the spare cash to spend. and i went for nikon D90 because it can be consider mid-range and i find the rest i mentioned, other than D700, rather plasticky. and next question, how often do you actually have the time/place to dive? is it worth it? thats another question. my vote goes to D90(got HD video recording)/50D(no video but higer ISO and pixel) for normal using, its good enough. and video recording do comes in handy.
  9. our sponsor, aquarium artist named vincent. nice chap.
  10. if you didnt touch the "pillars" of wood, then its okay. why not use a hole saw instead? fast, swift and near. little effort. i had done that. all the best.
  11. Hi dear hobbyists, i have a CL1000 with titanium coil, 1HP, in relatively good condition. Used for about 2.5years. It comes with a very new thermostat. asking for $260 interested parties please pm me. thanks for reading.
  12. haha, ladies! should glue your eyes on them for easier time passed. 2.5hr is fast, just look out for chicks more and post more and wala! time to pack up and head home.
  13. but you will have lots of fun at suntec booth. dun worry, yesterday's wont be the last time.
  14. this is what i did since its located at one of the base rock and i couldnt take that base rock out without dismantling the tank. i use a pair of tongs and put it at the entrance of its favorite spot. and wait for it to go thru inbetween the pincer. when its thru long enough, grab it tight with speed. and very slowly, pull it out. alot of time and patience needed for this. but it might work for you and worth the effort. all the best.
  15. thanks chris. yeap, glad that u manage to watch it. lets meet up soon. i believe you should be good to go with ur corals in the near future. just cycle abit more and u will be good. for fish, you need more time to prevent casualty. see you around.
  16. hey Chris, thanks for dropping by yesterday. nice chatting with you. do catch up soon. and man, you got nice lights.
  17. 3 additives? which 3? i forgot paiseh. thanks, i sure will take care of it. take care in aus.
  18. hot hot hot, recently got alot of burning smell. from the burning forest i guess. need no worry. my chiller also kicked in more often.
  19. yes, tap water should give 7+~9 normally. so counter check that. if you have coke or other soft drinks, dip it in. it should be about 3.5+/- btw, how old is ur probe. if the liquid inside the probe can be seen, is there still any? and perhaps u want to announce the brand of ph meter you used as well for reference.
  20. dip it in tap water. let us know the result.
  21. i place my plate on rocks for months before, so i dun think its caused by that if you place it in a way no flesh is rubbing the rocks. or maybe im just plain lucky. btw to answer Fuzzy question though its one year late. **************seen those retraction in euphyllias before. my guess is bacteria infection. you can try these steps if the infection didnt progess too quickly towards the mouth area, 1) dip in lugol solution for 20min. 2) saw or rotary saw off the infected part. step2a) super glue gel the wound. 3) dip in new set of lugol solution for 20min again. step 2a might be tricky for your case, so you can skip it. i done this to my corals before, and i did stop the infection from further in. and you might want to try to test your parameters as well. i suspect its brown jelly disease which happens after a wound injury. but IMO, its most likely gone. the disease is too advanced. ****didnt realized its a post one year ago****
  22. hi Nigel, thank you. so far will just leave it as it is. hardly have time to do these extra work. thanks for the picture advice, i understand what u mean but the purpose for those addition features was to label it my own. i already try to shift it to the sides not to block too much view. if i didn't add those features, i would have been more efficient. the nightmare paly is still around but growth is stunted after i stop dosing vitC and really start controling my water parameters. so far, i believe i have got about 5 polyps. now you reminded me, i didnt take a picture of them. cheers.
  23. yeah trying for MD. thanks ketchup for explaining.
  24. IME they do bleach when your parameters swing too much.
