like u said, the center peak rock is like showing international sign language. for who to see? and ur YT is losing its bright yellow leh. do something about it! although ur scaping looks good already, i suggest getting somemore small rocks into it, it will aid in ur new scaping.

hard to find. get a 2 feet t5s instead

hi weisheng, how do u differentiate the gender of the flame angels? i read somewhere its regarding to the shape of the end of the dorsal fins. female got a more rounder and male got a sharper one. don't mind take a clearer pic of them both on their dorsal fins? i want to get a companion for my flamey too but afraid i got the same gender one/

how bout school of blue eyed cardinals? i got 18 of them. they stick close, wont stray too far away and wont get too big. nice nice. and they are hardy!

your tank is very new, its rather a mistake to buy a dragonet. they are hard to get to feed on prepared food other than live ones. they eat mostly pods and pods population in ur tank is not as high yet. and even if you can frequently provide it with live brine shrimp, it will still be problem as BS is not as nutritious even for vitamined. in the long run, it will surely get skinnier and skinnier and then waste off. other than that, live food also means more bound to infections too so be cautious about it. and pipe fish is not suitable for reef tank, but i can be wrong. did u add all the fish together in without qt? bioload will shoot up, ur system volume is small so becareful with it. add some biobacter to aid flitrations. and lastly, be patience on the adding fish. as ick can be a problem wiping out some of the fish when add too much fish as one go. but i hope that only happen to me! take note on ur NO3, it can harm ur beautiful and expensive corals too! my advise for u is, do more water changes. and im very looking forwary to ur new FTS with swimmers! cheers mate!

high chance it might got killed by the impellor. its surprising that it got no wound but, sadly, thats was a very nice specimen. got a few qns on it though. where u got it? whats the damage like? easy to keep? paiseh, dunno much about pipe fishs.

2x1264? with top up?
-
pretty quite true. despite the ick resurface again, its starting to disappear right after the last outbreak. all other fishes seem doing fine.
-
this is good! once again, thanks for sharing.

it means u are in 4th yr? im still in 2nd. my first sem though. math sucks too, im direct 2nd yr and 2 yrs of greeny life screwed my maths up. im so suffering in fluid system now. its darn 8.30am in the morning and im still digging. how bad is that. yeah i understand ur pain. i hypo my main tank before for 2.5 months with all standard procedure with caution. but still when i raise the salinity slowly, i lost some of my fish to death due to ick resurfacing. 3 powder died on me but still, again, i still make an effort to qt them before dumping them into the tank. i dun like to see things scratching too much.
-
u from bioengineering? i am too, exams now. so screwed. my opinion is always always always qt ur fish. higher chance of surviving in ur tank. if not, then u are risking ur LS, both new and old. both parties have their points, but still, risking the life of my fish is not my cup of tea.

ouch! got chopped up?

im wondering the same thing too. or do they have some tips and tricks.

for the lightings, u can search for quad set. this will allow u to have some space to play with. add one more wavemaker will be cool. why don't consider koralia nano instead? they can save u some space as well. you might want to consider the afforadable ocean pulse alternating wave features with acclera pumps as well. my starting tank is a 2 feet too, all i can say is, you will really want to upgrade as days go by and honestly, 2 feet got not much room to play with. either way, happy reefing!
-
hiz! welcome to src! very nice rock scaping. but i, however, seriously think u should consider using a sump rather than just a 2217. do a upgrade on ur skimmer will be good as well. i see nitrate as a problem in the later stage. add more lighting instead. i prefer 4x 24W for ur configuration. chiller? no? add one if u don't run 1. with insufficient of lightings and relatively higher temperature range will eventually wasting off ur nice corals. add 1 or 2 more wave makers too! happy reefing!

hello! the brand named solite, MH with T5 and integrated moonlight sound very promising. its like everything in one. I wish i own one. AM carries it though.

am i smelling something? did the new Fr-150 get u addicted to buying/upgrading more equipments?
-
i have a friend who said he quitted already. but after weeks, i met him again, smoking. then i asked, i thought you said you quit? his response to me was, i only quit buying! anyway off topic! try nicotine pads, heard it works.

i have tried hypo my fishes for 2 months + before at 11-12ppt using refractormeter both in my qt and main tank. but when i raise it back slowly. ick still resurface. now im starting to believe that the claim on hyposalinity weaken ick and not killing them totally is true. i found this info on wetwebmedia.

not advisable. at such high temperature, most corals will start to reject their own zooanthelae and soon leads to bleaching. its a matter of time they starts to die off. so its a no no! think about it, will u be happy if u know they are somehow or rather suffering from the high temperature although it might still look relatively nice. for me no.

thanks for the time and effort to entertain lonely people like me that couldnt sleep in this late night. ur effort is greatly appreciated!

do ur 6 YT fight or chase one another? i had got 3 YT and they dun school together they kept fighting and chasing with one another instead
-
hiz there! nice tank in the making. i dun see any check valves. or did u drill holes on ur return pipes to prevent siphon? from the look of the dept of ur return pipes, when ur return pumps fail, u will get overflow in ur sump. i learnt that the hard way! hope it wont go the same for you.

cutting silicon, for me, is relatively easy. i just took about 15min to cut out the partitions for my 4 feet sump. all i used was just a plain ###### pen knife blade with tissue paper wrapped around(for grip and prevent myself for getting hurt). and i got a tube of orca as well. the silicon will dry but just need abit of time in which faster than those normal silicon. and i am ONLY sharing my experience. im not targeting or siding anyone here. chill
