  3. daiso have them. $2 for each. got mine at Plaza sing branch
  4. yes you can, i plug both of mine for more than 2yr already
  5. hi simon_jazz, for ur area, you should try marinedepot.com, aquacave.com or you looking for bulk stuff, try bulkreefsupply.com. for a device used for just 2 months, i think you should bring it back to where you bought it and see what they say. all the best mate
  6. thank you freddy, jacky, rocky and comycus. i think i had made up my mind, a D90 it shall be. thanks! really appreciates it
  7. hi jacky, thanks for your input. i checked the feel of it and actually prefer D5000 weight, smaller body and rotation-enable screen. while D90 feel is still ok but D90's function and both D90's LCD display is a drooling wants for me and i want something that is more of future-proof so thats why gives me so much headaches over these 2 models. and thank you fred, iskay and comycus for the enlightenment. the motor in D90 is a good to have too. i already camped in clubsnap for a while but still couldnt decide
  8. there are 2 reasons for it. 1 is because most of my camera geeks friends are nikon user, so i can borrow their lenses if theres a need. and 2nd which is kind of dumb and most important is that owning a nikon SLR was a dream when i was a kid. i always have the urge to forfill these kind of childhood dreams which also another reason why i have a salty tank hopefully a ferrari, roll royce, yacht and a pet horse is not too far away from that childhood dream too
  9. thank you. i hope im able to pull that out soon too.
  10. hi iskay while it is true that coral spawning might crash a tank but still i would like to achieve that kind optimal condition for them to behave as they would in the sea. and profilux controller is able to forfill the moon phase, cloud cover, temperature, current etc. but it is also true that all these will never be as-is-nature. i read an article before that spawning etc might not be related to moonphases etc, but can be of gravity pull of the moon. still, much need to be studied before we can ever come to a conclusion. but still i would love my fishes to enjoy those benefit. and its really depends on one's belief to see if its worth the investment as these devices can cost a bomb.
  11. Hi reefers, im intending to get a DSLR and im currently stuck between a nikon D90 and D5000. anyone have experience with it? i heard they are about the same interms of build, but how bout picture quality wise? any other brands and model input are welcome but of course, my budget doesnt allow me to go for higher end models.
  12. its good to have moonlight for natural stimulation. if one is taking into serious consideration of mimicking the nature, you should also look at profilux's Dimmable LED light stick. you can control the moon phase with the location you desired. just input the coordinates and you are good to go. the light stick have 4 colors of LED, namely blue, white, orange and red. it can also create sun raise, sun set and lightning storm flashes in your tank which in turn set ur controlled wavemaker go crazy to create a storm effect to wash off debris. i hope i can set up the unit probably by next week and make a video of it after i get my video capable DSLR.
  13. probably its mulfunctioning. heater is a rather simple device, unlike chiller. thus noise is unusual for me though i never used it. if i were you, i will replaced it. a bad heater could leak stray voltage and you wont want that considering its a 350W unit. and do keep your heater in good flow area. and a warm welcome to sgreef, i hope we are able to give you a wonderful exp here. california is like halfway across the globe, its good to see u pop by. happy reefing!
  14. newer tunze model is more space compact. especially for their nano series.
  15. one set reserved. one set up for grab. thanks for reading
  16. hiz vtec, you are welcome. i guessed reefer had been diverted too far away from the recent topic about lfs. lets divert back to our hobby, our tank already need so much of our time and attention, lets not waste any of our's for these unworthy issues. must as well spend more time reading and enjoying our tank before another problem occurs again. and i do agree with you, my previous K4 from AM do have wider flow and tunze have more direct flow which is more suitable for longer rectangular tank. it really depends on one needs to decide on which to go for. happy reefing
  17. bro vtec, need not get so sensitive. the hydor and the changed tunze are all from the same lfs. its really just about sharing my exp on particular brands. regards
