  1. high NO3 might be a reason as well. of course if something is too high, will cause some other things problem. do more w/c, shift zoas up and see what happen. all the best Jeremy
  2. cheatos, or other algaes thats asexual. deep sand bed, water change. good skimmer. make use of the sunlight for algae since ur tank is at ur backyard and only partially sheltered.
  3. should be pods as well. copepod, amphipods etc. i bet you are seeing this. amphipods: http://images.google.com.sg/images?hl=en&a...sa=N&tab=wi and pods can be seen if u observe closely.
  4. for T5, the europeans and the richy rich americans suggest to change T5 tubes every 6months or a year. for us(most of us), the more conversative, changes about once every year. MH bulbs about 9-12months as well. depending on source of brandings for each individual as well. so are you going to be richy rich? LED, I believe its longer. perhaps you should shift that colony up higher for a few weeks to see if lights are the cost. for me when I shift zoas down to lower level, their tentacles will be shorter and they open not as big as before. so play around with location. it was nice sharing with you Jeremy happy reefing Lawrence
  5. for me, when these occurs. normally its because of lighting. Perhaps you should wait and see or simply spend the money on changing your light tubes. sorry Eniram, I could only able to help you this much.
  6. very unlikely Eniram and you are welcome. i bet on no, its not the reason. could be something else. but still never say never on all things.

  9. no, even if anemone dun sting, which is very uncommon. the swinging of its tenticles will still irritates the corals. i seen it before in my friend's tank that the anemone slowly finishing off the corals beside. so please avoid it.
  10. no, i never had my hands on that. sound pretty fun.
  11. well said! LOL how bout rare corals in well maintain tank?
  12. far from it, only can do reading for pass time. pocket and my tank dun allow me to hands on. remember to check for fungus/scratches/layer of dust on glass under bright light on both sides. if outside cosmetic is screwed up, try to bargain. if not then its okay. try to get him to include a filter for you as well.
  13. 55mm f2.8 should give you a 1:1 real size. but better off for protraits and fish shots. Nikkor AF 35-135mm f/3.5-4.5 only gives u 1:3.5 +-. 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 is better with 1:2 real size and light. if ask me choose between the 2, i rather get the 55mm f2.8 and keep the kit lens. f2.8 is consider fast and will be useful for shooting low light situation like our aquarium. but still consider the new 60mm and 105mm f2.8 if you are serious. have fun~
  14. you sick. kanamycin during my IA was like free. now i have got no access. try more formalin and you should be the next Vladimir Illyich Lenin

  18. get medication before hand before u buy clowns. brook is well known to kill a fish as soon as 8hr upon infection. beside medication, time is the cure as well. all the best.
  19. sound so fun. maybe i should since nigel and lemon might be going.
  20. henry have befuran as well. careful on befuran and formalin. both are carcinogenic upon contact, especially formalin. do wear gloves. before dipping, dip in freshwater for 5minutes. shake the fella up if he lay on its side. befuran, use a bag to 5liter of water, dip for half an hr to an hr. airate strongly through out. do it everyday till it gets better. i did it 3 times. by the 2nd time, the clowns starting eating again. after treatment i put it back into tank's betta. it works for me. can talk to henry as well for more info on that. all the best.
