  1. very unlikely to have such a drop unless you did a major water change/top up. and you water volume is not too small. i think you better check your refractormeter. its better.
  2. yeah, NSW probably will give you much problems. saltmix is prefered.

    WTG fish

    very generous indeed.
  4. Las Vegas is an expensive place to venture. the only thing i could think of buying there is chips. or on the strippers to get you some eye candies.
  5. salinity probe cannot be trusted at times.
  6. good, if possible squeeze in a compressor.
  7. that claim is interesting since rowa is the best i used in the aquarium industry. im looking forward to it.
  8. it satisfy 2 out of 3 parameters of a cube so its almost a cube-like though. order those needed equipments yet?
  9. carbon + UV + Ozone = Nice Sparkling water. strong believer of the above. actually, carbon do remove some trace but very minor. get a tub of 5litre rowacarbon. thats the cheaper way, and rowacarbon very clean. so you no need to rinse ur carbon so siong. try other brand like aquapharm or those freshwater brands, it seem no matter how i rinse, its still dusty.
  10. 2 temp controllers in serial for lower limit control is not wise.
  11. yeap will work, think is ur lights that cook your tank. like what bluesotong suggester, you can call chilldown or simply DIY it yourself. can get it quite affordable at simlim tower. and btw, aquarium computer is recommended if you want to shut off/ turn on more things when things go wrong. for example: if temperature goes abover certain level, lights and non-essential equipment off or sub chiller/fan turn on, alarm buzzer on. with those computer, you can set it that way.
  12. tempered glass is extremely brittle and hard to cut. once one try to cut it, it will shatter and not just crack or break. only way is to use laser to cut from what i know. if eastern glass got sell, it should be quite an number. any idea whats the price like?
  13. couldnt agree more, thats why we need a double safety most of the time to be good. like 2 return pump, using chiller to lower temperature and controller to shut off non-important equipments when temperature go wrong.
  14. what could be the reason? flow too strong? a contributing factor too fish nipping it? yes it could be, so watch out.
  15. dose plankton and zeovit coral vitaliser to stimulate it to over.
  16. how bout texas poker? i bring game chips and potato chips.
  17. ahhh till 9.30pm thats good. and amsterdam... dun forget to wee wee weed ops.
  18. Fuel has a point. epoxy is hard to use in water. i normally used for pegging, out of water(first) till the shape is there and strong enough to hold. then put it at a low flow area waiting for it to set. pegging with epoxy is a good combo. other than that, its really hard to use(in water).
  19. hi jacky, yes you can. but its not recommended to apply it in water (squeezing in water), its hard to use like that. take ur frag out of water, apply some at the base and put it at the position you want in the tank. hold it for like a good 30s and it will be good.
  20. pardon me, i bet this question already answered before. but where are you heading? be safe and bon voyage.
  21. yes vurbul. it helps. get those bigger/value pack to save more on money on superglue. in my experience, superglue is easier to work with. but their limitation is to smaller sized frags.
  22. btw larry, it was really nice of you to take out the money from the funds to sponsor these, really appreciates ur effort even though i wont be able to make it. SUCH PITY. sorry to side track. to Reddevil Nigel: I will arrange a dinner with you before my departure and yours. pretty much to talk about.
  23. my friend's 2 ft cube, he used alot to epoxy all his sps onto his rocks. the next day, tank crushed. some fishes and corals gone. it was said that the epoxy prevent uptake of oxygen and thus the tank suffocates. no matter what is it, dun use too much at one go. but still, epoxy are pretty safe in my experience.

    DIY sump

you can say that. thats the most rationale way.
  25. careful, some or most glass are not suitabled with heat. a few cases i heard of of cracking up when water are splash onto it while its hot. its better to use tampered glass.
