  1. Bro, you will require some form of nutrient export. Most reefers use a skimmer to remove the inorganic waste in the tank. If you do not have space at all for a skimmer, you can use a small algae scrubber to remove the organic waste. You can read more here: I'm currently running this without a skimmer. Nutrient levels are under control without livestock casualties in the last few weeks. Phosphates can be controlled easily with a bag of phosphate removing media in the iOS (if you have) of your tank. Your salinity, pH levels, and temperature are fine.
  2. Sorry to hear about that. If u need any help to temporarily house any livestock just give me a ring.
  3. The Helfrichi pair is just too lovely..
  4. Nice DIY work. Thanks for sharing. Where did you get your metal frame?
  5. Sure, come next Saturday 13th Oct when I do scrubbing again.
  6. Thanks for the advice. I've changed the LEDs to 4x3W 660nm red, and 1x3W 455nm blue. (see post #33). Total 15W LEDs on a 20 sq in screen (single-side).
  7. Another 14 days of harvest. Looking good. Thanks for this fantastic initiative, S.M. This screen is 4"x5". Question. When I want to upgrade to a bigger screen, how can I integrate this original pc of turf to ensure continuity and maintain a good headstart for the new screen?
  8. UAS update 30.09.12. This growth after 14 days. Am extremely pleased. Tried plucking out as much as I can, and this Is what is collected. Some stray algae was left in the tank, and when the return pump was turned on again, the tangs were going crazy with this fresh greens. Pods are also in abundance. All fishes had a nice feast.
  9. Tank updates 15.09.12 UAS after 9 days. Looks like it's getting along fine. Mr Scientist dropped by for a chat, and I get a rock of 2 anemones in my tank! Thanks for letting me house these beautiful specimens for you. I hope they thrive in my tank.
  10. Lol, mine is just 1 fish. Still low bio load. Managing it ok. Bare bottom too.
  11. Thanks bro. I'm thinking, that's a lot of resting. Is it normal? Ohh.. Thanks for the heads up. The beauty does make up for the mean streak.. Btw any suggestions for tank mates for Mr Toby?
  12. Thanks. Will go take a look if possible tmr. Yup she did come by twice to take a look and passed some lame remarks. Me thinks the puffer may have been spooked. Lol. On a serious note, quite rapid breathing is observed, but I do not know if the rate is rapid or normal. Same rate for 10 hrs. It's still moving gracefully though, during the few times it moved. Well I'll continue monitoring. Thanks.
  13. Crouching Puffer, Hidden Specimen. Lol, my puffer sticks to the rock almost 100% of the time since this morning. Even food does not entices it to move. Yesterday after I let it in the tank, it still swam around, pecking the lr and the mysis that I fed. Today it just stuck to the rock, only the darting eyes and breathing shows it is still alive. Well it did change positions every now and then. But basically it just stayed still. Is it dying?
  14. Thanks bro. Will be forgoing the idea of cutesy little reef. Going for radical species that I can't keep in my tank at home. Think I've disappointed many of my colleagues with this decision. Haha.
  15. Thanks. Now looking for a boxfish to accompany him. Anyone see any sign of small boxfish pls alert me ya. Thank you.
  16. If she's has any remote association with the word "chio", my plan would be totally different loh.. It'll be a grander plan than such a scheme. Hehehe..
  17. Haha, the grand plan is for my b*t*hy account mgr to dip her fingers in "accidentally". WaKakaka...
  18. Hi where is the collection place? I'm interested in a frag if they're still available.
