  1. A morning FTS without any lights. The Purple Queen Anthias swim out much more actively during the day when the lights are not on.
  2. Tank Updates. 26.10.2012. (Photo Intensive) It's been a long while since my last updates. I was just gazing into my little nano, when I found a Hidden Mickey on my RBTA. So I whipped out my trusty iPhone 4, and snapped a shot of it. Well, one thing led to another, I ended up taking a couple of hundreds of shots... LOL.. Can you find the Hidden Mickey? Some assorted zoas, and my zoas garden. My twin Alveoporas which I absolutely adore. A frag of Chilli Pepper Monti Cap. The pink dots are not very prominent though. A 50-cent size Green Plate Some fishes.. A goondu looking Tailspot Blenny Yellow Tang Purple Queens (Females. The male is more shy than the ladies) My current favourite photo models... The Clowns dancing in their Gonios homes. This one hosts the bigger gonio.. This one has to settle for the smaller gonio. Living next to the "want-to-split-but-cannot-split F. Ric. Tried some top view shots.. This is how I view them every night. An FTS.. Last but not least, I just can't get enough of them..
  3. Yes I experience cloudiness too today. Salt mix looks ok after 16 hrs of mixing last night. Then I turned off the powerhead. When I opened the lid today, I found the water chalky. Nonetheless I continued to use it for wc. 45%. Main tank turned chalky, but cleared up within an hour. Guess I'll have to time my salt mix preparation properly to avoid chalkiness again.
  4. I will throw caution to the wind and use this 40L of DI water and 1.3kg of salt mixed for 16 hours for my water change later. Unless I receive a firm "no" reply in the next 1 hour here. Will update again the parameters after the 45% water change for my nano 2-footer.
  5. See para 3 last sentence. Really wonder why they put this line..
  6. I was reading the little booklet in the RSCP salt bucket. At the end of the mixing instruction is "DO NOT mix for more than 4 hours".. No explanation was given. Any one care to enlighten? I dumped salt into DI water this morning before work. So it's been more than 15 hours mixing with a powerhead. Can I continue to use this water for water change?
  7. I do. Both of them have their own private cave. Royal gramma has been in my tank for 3 months. Around 2". Can always be seen in the open. Bought my black cap last weekend. Also 2". Likes to hide under the shade. Maybe because it's new, it hardly forages out. But as I know the exact cave it's at, he can be peeped at easily. Mine is only a nano tank. Display tank dimension is 24"x12"x 18"(H). Perhaps it's too soon to tell. Let's wait a while more before passing verdict.
  8. Sorry I have to withdraw the sale. The fish while in the box, got stressed up, and spots show up again. Thousand apologies to bro Tropic who waited at my block in vain. Owe you one bro. When the PBT is truly stable will I then post again. Thank you all for your response.
  9. This fish has been with me for 4 weeks.
  10. Hi all, before I start, please don't flame me for keeping this specimen in my 2" tank. I realize my impulse is getting harder and harder to control. So now selling this fish. I have trapped the fish already. Buyer has to collect by Thursday 18th Oct, as I'm flying off for a short trip come Friday. q $18. Feeding on nori sheet and pellets. Recovered from a mild bout of white spots, total number of spots can be counted on 2 hands then. Bedok reservoir road. I'm avail tonight after 9pm, and tmr after 3pm. Text me to arrange. 945525zero9. Thanks. K.K.
  11. Still trying to trap the fellas. Some patience ya.. May never get the harem out at all too, at the rate this is going.
  12. Thanks. Will give it a try. It sure beats draining the tank and tearing apart the rocks.
  13. Yes yes bro. Thanks bro. You're a heaven sent. Arrange with you on whatsapp..
  14. Just realized that this harem sleeps in the rock works at night, each in its own cave. The lights on / off tactic won't work liao. Anyone has the fish trap to loan? Gemsurfs has stocked out this item, only avail in 2 weeks..
  15. It simply means the DI resin has exhausted. As my DIY DI unit is small, the resin gets exhausted after roughly 100L of water. The smell is like ammonia. TDS will not be at 0. I will just replace with fresh resin, and replace the water too (use for flush toilet and stuff), just to play safe. Till now, I've not even used up a third of the small $30 (3L) tub of resin. Note: My house tap water reads 90+ TDS before the treatment ( 30+ year old HDB pipes).
  16. Hi, Bro Klyve has opted not to take the fishes. Bro Linus will be next. Anyone has any ideas how to catch these fellas? The moment I touch the net which has been in the tank for hours, all the fishes dart into the rockworks. Thanks in advance.
  17. In chronological order, as I'm trying to be transparent. No personal preference. The rights to reject, in order are: 1. Klyve 2. Linus 3. Ezman
  18. Hi will reply in chronological order to those who have PMed me. Just saw 3 PMs. Sorry I forgot to post my contact no. Will update here again in the afternoon. Thanks for your interests.
  19. Bought them on impulse 3 weeks ago. My tank looks too cluttered with them as they are the biggest fishes in my 2footer. Male - 3" 2 Females - 2"-2.5" Feeding on mysis. $20 for the 3. Selling cheap. One problem though.. Will take a few days to catch them. No idea now yet on how to catch them though. The pics here are from google image. I'm not able to get a good shot of them. However, they look exactly like the pics. Collection at Bedok Reservoir. Male Female
  20. Nice! You have a very creative yet appropriate theme. Looking forward to your setup.
  21. Well, if you have not bought the RO/DI unit, and would like to save some $$, you may want to DIY, like what I'm doing. I'm doing 30L of DI water every fortnight for water change and for topping up. See post #23 of my thread here. PM me if you need more help. I have some spare resin you can take to try.
  22. Hi Carolyc, You can use quick disconnect faucets and connectors to do the job. Example here http://www.claberinc.com/products/irrigation.asp?pn=2&fm=55&sz=34 I once got the Y-faucet, and split the washing machine outlet to one for RO/DI permanently. Even if you cannot fix it permanently, you can always leave the Y-faucet there, just turn off the RO/DI side when you're done, and use the quick disconnect to easily store the RO/DI set away till you want to use it again. Such sets can be bought aplenty in hardware shops around Sungei Road area, or any other hardware shops (slightly more exp). You can choose branded fittings like "Claber", or cheaper generic brands. Just make sure the fitting size fit the RO/DI set you have. HTH.
  23. RO/DI units are available in a few of our sponsor LFSes. Price is also very reasonable. Check out their websites and make your choice.
