  1. Granted, but it's got 20,000 dead pixels. I wish I can turn invisible and run around ######.
  2. They sell at $2 per sq ft. Quite xpensive. And also they charge cutting fee. $4 per cut. A small piece 3ft x 10" cost me $10 last week for a 12mm thickness plywood.
  3. Granted, but you forgot your wallet, and watch helplessly as someone else buys up the entire shipment. I wish it snows in Singapore.
  4. heh heh.. Just out of curiosity.. you took the shots of someone working on the stuff, or someone took the shots of you working on the stuffs? Is this your workshop? Wow, I wished I have a playground like this....
  5. Hi, You may want to use thin plywood (9mm) to form a frame, and some support to let it sit on the tank. I used self-adhesive stickers to make the plywood look presentable. So far it's holding up alright for me. Last week, I even hinged a diy set of 4xT5 lightings to the hood. The light set is connected to the hood with the use of hinges, and it is able to swivel up to vertical standing for me to access the water easily. Will post pictures later in the week. Found a good place to buy plywood though.. The Sel-fix DIY shop at the newly renovated Marina Centre (near Giant) cuts the ply wood to your desired dimensions. And you can of course buy the stickers there too. I am sure some of the stickers come in shades close to your cherry wood colour. BTW, here's a pic of my DIY hood constructed last year.
  6. It only hurt when that bugger sucked on the fingers and didn't want to let go. The pockmarks only looks scary, and they only went off a few hours after the incident. What an experience though..
  7. Hi Bro M.E., Are you looking at DIY or custom making? Ideally i think it's best to have laminated wood for the wooden boards forming the cabinet. The kind that's used for kitchen cabinets. You can choose the colors to co-ordinate with your walls etc..
  8. Sounds like constipated output... unfinished bowels... LOLZ
  9. Huh? Bro you mean those are carpet anemones in your avatar ah?... Sorry pardon my ignorance, but i thought they looked like microscopic image of some pollens or something like that...
  10. Bro.. PMed you on the resun FL with Rowas..
  11. Any updates? Your T5 still available? Pls PM me the price if still unsold. Thanks!
  12. Thanx guys, Always mistakenly thought that moistened fingers will reduce the adhesive effects of the epoxy.. Was trying to scrape off the dried up white stuffs on fingers today at work. Still some remnants in the nails.. lucky white in colour, if not pp will think i dirty hog!
  13. Aquaz Epozy.. Leaves a smell like rat glue.. sorry not rat poison. Sticks to finger nails like mad. Think will leave it dry up overnite then scrape them off.
  14. How to get rid of the thin film of epoxy on your fingers after kneading them? Smells like rat poison, looks awful, and feels so yucky.
  15. Duh.. The anemone was already beginnning to rot in my sump liao lah.. Who in the rite frame of mind would release an anemone into a drain? Or worse, flush it down the bowl? I threw it away in a sealed plastic bag, so no contamination of our environment... I hope.. I never tought this could be the culprit for the few MIA fish, until I caught it red-handed leh.. Thanks for the reminder, nowadays i take the approach of one of the brothers here, ie, see a LS I fancy, leave it at the LFS first. Go back study a bit about it, then if found compatible, go back to get it. If it's still there, it's fated. If not, at least some knowledge gained. The anemone in question was one of the first acquisitions in my 5-month old tank. Then, this "see-study-then buy mentality" was not in my mind yet.. True, i didn't realise the potent sting of this fella. Now i know first hand..
  16. My 2 red perculas don't even want to get near it leh.. Anyway it's already in the ocean liao... errr.. all drains lead to the ocean rite?
  17. This is its usual glory... Always found the tentacles sticky, but never imaging it preying on my fishes... Now at least i know where 2 other missing gobies and a cleaner wrasse went to.. Imagine what it did to my skin, more so damage it did to the fishes..
  18. This is the fella with the iron strong grip. Anyway i tried to pull that the killer out of my tank before any more damage can be done, and lo, it was a tough tug of war. Took me a full 2 mins and with the help of a plastic bag and a ladder before it could be uprooted. I think i tore its tissues a bit ( heard a few snaps while pulling... she deserves it ). It does not open to its usual span even after 1 full day in the sump with PL lights on 24/7. Worse still found some tissues disintegrating from the anemone.. Yikes, gotta throw it away before toxins are released..
  19. Darn carpet anemone... Introduced a pair of purple firefish.. and i was happily watching them frollicking around for the next 10 mins.. Then i went away for a while. Suddenly heard my wife shouting at me to come to the tank. Curiously i sauntered to see what the big was... There it was.. one of the firefish was already half encased in the anemone tentacles. I quickly climbed onto a chair to help released the fish. But that damned anemone grabbed my fingers even, and gripped even tighter onto her dinner. After much tugging and digging at the anemone, finally got the fish out... But bless her soul, she is already halfway to fish heaven liao.. My fingered were also pockmarked.

Skipper, You'll only need some plywood and some hinges, plus some stuffs to hold the plywood together. You can get the plywood from Eunos Ind Park, a shop call Chip Lee Timbers. Cheers..

I used those self-adhesive laminates for all the panels and hood. Wood can be purchased from 1 of 2 shops at Eunos Industrial Park. They'll cut for you. I use kapur wood. My tank is 3 feet. Hope this helps.. Bro Ervine, bulk of the posts in this DIY forum seem to be removed...
