The excess water that you poured in has to go somewhere. If display tank water level remains same, then check other compartments in your ios. If ll constant, then it can only be the chiller. Could there be a reservoir in this chiller? Worst case scenario is a leak, but I doubt it. If leaking, the water will be always dropping, not remain low.

Did the water level in the display tank go up after the topping up and the pump sucking in all of them?

Bumps under the skin of my yellow tang
kaykay replied to kaykay's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Thanks bro. The bumps are under the skin, and not white color dots. It seems like they're growing under the skin. They're more like lumps. I always thought ich parasites grow on the skin and not under. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. If its just ich, then at least I'm not as worried as compared to if it were some unknown disease. -
The extra water that you topped up has to be somewhere in the closed loop. Is there a leak anywhere? Check this first. Once ascertained no leak see below. Maybe the chiller has not been "primed" properly. So there are pockets of space in the chiller yet to be filled with water. I'll continue to topup water slowly until I see an increase in the water level in the pump compartment. See if the above works.

Just top up more water. Evaporation would have reduced the water level in the last compartment.

I think it's tough finding 3 small healthy specimens of YT PT PBT, at the same time. Perhaps gotta pay the LFS to temporarily house any of the 1 or 2 before the trinity can be introduced at the same time into our tank. Lol

I bought a YT last Sat. Kan Cheong me. I knew all along I'll want a PT & PT combi. Yet I couldn't resist when I see a healthy 2"+ specimen feeding on pellets. Now I've got to pray hard I can find a good sized PT during these few days, and hope they don't fight. Haizz...

Livestock update 15.07.12 Please don't flame me. The YT Has always been a "must-have" for me. I already chose the smallest healthy specimen I can find. I'm probably adding a PT next week, if there are smaller specimens in the shipment. I pledge that I will stop adding tangs after the PT. Promise. Also added a small pair of locally bred true percs yesterday morning. Real small fishes. Both about 1" length each. But they're less black than the true percs I've seen. Will more black show when they mature? -
Bristle Worms - To keep or not to keep
kaykay replied to poomoon's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Damned wicked looking. For me, I won't keep these. I won't want any accidental contact with any of them when I dip my hands into the tank!! I'll make sure they're properly dead before disposing them too. Don't want to harm anyone else too. -
Lol, it really looked like a nice helmet on the left of the blue tang..

What's your tank dimensions? Did I count 10 clownfish in your 2nd pic? Wow..

Nice tank you have there. Read your other post about relocating. A pity the tank's gotta go.

Yup I know too. Have already moved the led 1" further from the screen. If by next 2 weeks I still see the burnt centers, I'll fabricate another box, where the algae screen is moved even further away from the tank wall from the inside. -

All my other filtration is still running. Skimmer is running too. Only when I see macro algae blooming in this ATS, and when nitrates are undetectable, then I'll consider this project stable enough to decomm the skimmer. In the meanwhile, nitrates are still high at 40ppm. Used to be at 60-80ppm range though. -

DIY Project UAS - update 14.07.12 It's been 7 days since I ran the DIY LEDs (4red + 1blue) on the ATS. Results are more than satisfactory. Recap of the LEDs. 7 days of nutrient extraction. I am a very happy reefer today. -

Yes AM is that. Thanks for your compliments. I think the 60% blue LEDs ratio made the tank purplish on photos. With the naked eyes it's actually not so purplish tho. -
The medium sized ones are really nice as sashimi.. Tried some before. They're sweet!

The frags are so small I dont know how to share. As for the large rock, you must show me how to frag it. Haha. Bring your frag tools along too. Lol.. -

Thanks. All but one of the zoas frags are from Cedric. Most amazing colors. The bigger rock of multi-color zoas is from AM shipment 3 weeks ago. Cheap rock. But I like. -

Yes. 2 aquawashers. 12 blue + 8 white chips. Kinda regret now as the hue looks too purplish. Should have stuck to 50:50. -
