  1. Firstly, we must know why we are using the wool in the first place. Are we using it for pure filtering purpose, juz to collect all the dirts, waste etc? Or Are we using the wools as a bacteria home/host? If we are using it for pure filtering purpose, we can juz ditch it once its fill with dirt, to each preference. If it is used for bacteria home/host , I would suggest shaking the wool in the sump, give it a few squeeze and siphon out the dirt that drops off. Thus, beneficial bacteria will not be lost. Works really well for freshwater tank too.
  2. Apart from epoxy, is there any other solution? I read somewhere that we could drill hole and put plastic tubings, but I can't find any in hardware shop... Any advices? Thx
  3. Me currently keep 1 regal, 1 flame and 1 emperor, with my half-bucket way of keeping fishes, they doing quite well. I suspect is where ya buy ya fishes. Personally, as due to my work schedule, I only buy fish from 2 place lately, AM and sealife, not that I'm promoting their fishes, but so far the fishes I bought from them are doing very well. I have no experience in white patch, but for fin rot, I encounter this last time when I purchase a warrase in a shop in the east, and it have the fin rot. after 1 day KO. Any others like to share their comment?
  4. Icic. When ya new fish passed away, any signs of infection on their body? CSI liao. What kind of water ya using for the water change? The last thing i suspect, could be the place where ya bought your livestock from, there is one LFS which I used to purchase fish from, and they dun really last long [last 3 mths...then KO]. heheee. Personally, I also avoid some hard to keep fishes like moonish idol etc...
  5. I think its extremely high in salt. taste great with chilli though. Ya can buy dried krills in can forms, some LFS do carries them. :P
  6. Hi Ash, Juz curious. Did ya check ya water parameter? I bet ya did. Frankly speaking, with your equipment, I think they are more then enough for a FOWL. [much better then mine] so ya transfer ya DSB from old tank to new one? I do not think a DSB will ever exhausted. probably, disturbing the DSB will cause an ammonia spike in ya tank. Ya use back ya old tank water? I will advise to leave ya tank as it is without any more addition of livestock. Quarantine new arrival for 1 month before adding them into main, I suspect there is existing ick bateria in ya tank floating ard.... and an UV will not help.
  7. Cheatoooooo Upz Happy new yr everyone !
  8. I have a regal angel. Its feeding on formulae two pellets, I choose it as I saw that it was pellet fed at the LFS.
  9. Healthy fishes ! Ate the pellets greedily !! Upz for nice bro
  10. Selling. Collecting yishun, 5 buckss per tub
  11. Gobys are bottom feeder, so yes, in a certain extent. Get a green brittle star lah, confirm work.
  12. If due to space constraint, then its okay loh. The point of having flow on top of the DSB is to avoid food particles etc to settle on the top, but....its okay... as long got flow, can liao.
  13. Hi guys, wah, dig up my old thread. haha. Anyway, regarding Hydrogen Sulphide, it has been over-blown, after reading from threads in reef central and personally, disturbing my DSB, nothing happen. Oh well, no harm to be on the safe side though. Recently, managed to hit 0 nitrate for my FOWL. [salifert testkit] Using Cheato, red bamboo in my refugium as well as my portable DSB[Dun think much help though], over-skimming. Combined with alot live rocks, I'm a happy man. Cheato is one of the best nutrients exporter and it doesn't go asexual. Mag, me a bit skeptical about mangrove, it look nice, but I wonder their efficiency and also...no space....
  14. Ya can leave the dead prawn inside. 3-4 weeks loh.
  15. "We have stopped production to relocate our facility. Please check back with us in two years. Thank You. " Heheheee....so long....
