  4. PM me... collect yishun....
  5. Wow ! Nice rocks. How many kg of LR inside?
  6. If i remember correctly, green ribbon seaweed might need a bit iron to grow, u may wish to add chelated iron, I kind of forgets. Anyway, good try ! Really apperciate your contribution ! At least we have something new. Just like when people started using mangrove. I feel that, in reefing, we should always try new things, share knowledge, no matter its right or wrong, just to have an active discussion.
  7. Kareen, are you able to perform a large water change for now? Just to see how much nitrate can be lowered. secondly, have you tried using the AZ NO3 ? Heard fellow reefers trying, having gd effect.
  8. My tank is 2.5 ft tall. Find it bery troublesome to arrange rock work...
  9. I think it will kill off all bacterias in your biology filter.....
  10. Some other reefers got better result. My old tank was bad.....lol. Oh, now, I had cheato and red bamboo for sump. And massive amount of live rocks. I cut down on frozen food as well, find phospate a nuisance... no corals, so abit easier for me.
  11. Upz for nice reefer. Got coraline on some of them. Cured.
  12. I used this 2 yrs ago when my nitrate hit 80. I manage to drop it to ard 50, but last time no sump, so oh well....better than nothing. Now not using, as dun have nitrate problem so far. :P
  13. I did mine this way. if the outlet is at the lid cover, I muz make sure that the lid and the pail has no leak in between. Anyway, depends on ya design bah, at the end of the day, concept still the same.
  14. From th picture, we can see that the inlet is smaller than the outlet. both inlet are level, above the RDSB. However, do note that there must be enough flow so that dentris would not stay there and rot. Hmmm, I think i use a 1500litre/hr pump for flow. a bit forgetful. By the way, this will take roughly 1 month for it to kick in. Any grade of sand will do. I used beach sand grade, nv use coral chips, haha. It quite popular in reef central, google," RSDB+reef central "
  15. woohhhhh.... I presume ya already hav a refugium, some mangrove... and still high ? hmmmm..... stonger light for cheato?
  16. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...=44458&st=0 I got a pic somewhere....cannot find. >.< posted last yr.. Juz curious, how high is your nitrate now?
  17. If I recall, sulphate could be kept low with the practice of regular water change. Sulphate wouldn't be that bad yet as there is little info abt the impact of sulphate in reef tank. Ya can try a remote DSB, 1 coral life pail with sand, 12-14 inch sand bed. But not nice-looking. haha.
  18. "cooking" = not boiling the live rock... >.< Rock will not turn dead... http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...threadid=437342
  19. I only scared mantis, hahaa..... Cooked the rock loh, but sometimes not hundred per cent safe also...
  20. yo victor, I dun mind sharing cost, but its around west area, i see the place...stress....
