No problem! Keep us posted on your tank! Seriously your tank is a lucky tank to have so many "doctors" waiting on it! teehee. Hope it gets well soon! (: Yeahh, I will see how and let you know. May have Christmas shopping to do :X Happy Reefing, Marc J.

+1 Bro, right now is to buy salt and change water. pH swings are inevitable in nanos, the idea is therefore how to maintain and contain a range which your corals are comfortable in. I do not think a 10% water change will cause parameters to go hairwire because in US (if you visit www.nano-reef.com) you will see a number of US reefers doing like 20-25% water changes once every 2 weeks. There's a guy in RC TOTM by the name of Louis Tsai (louist) who has/had an inspiring 10 gallon nano which he won TOTM with. You can do a search for his nick, louist in nano-reef.com, *the other local marine forum* and also in RC. You will see that his tank is no different from yours and if he can win TOTM with what he is doing, I am sure you can do it as well! May not be TOTM but definitely something spectacular! Just don't give up! (: Also, about your kH, I suggest you frag your monti up and keep only a small frag size for yourself because big sps like such sucks alot of calcium which in return will affect your kH. Without a stable ionic balance, your spses will not encrust and lest grow. They may wither and die. Honestly, I am guilty of such a doing because I too once was naive thinking that my 1ft cube nano can upkeep the amount of calcium intake with periodic water change but the speed at these spses even their frags, sucking up calcium is too fast for me and my 1ft nano to keep up. So better be safe than sorry, frag it bro and sell/trade for other nice corals (: SPSes are nice growers if current and stable water parameters are present and don't have to worry about not getting something as nice as this back. The market is always here for you and so are the senior reefers. There's always a chance to get corals which you have lost due to constraints back again (: Meantime, just keep things simple and easy! And do read up alot on SRC, RC, and for yourself, nano-reef.com. I learnt alot from these three places for my 6 years in this hobby. So do give some time into the reading up. If you need references, let me know. I can draw up some links to show you where the knowledge lies. Lastly, I want to say that if I have ever said/typed/hinted/mentioned anything that may cause someone to feel hurt, I sincerely apologise. There was no malicious intention and all I want is to help my bro here. Period. Happy Reefing, Marc J.

I suggest you do next time. Honestly I am not pointing fingers at anybody but somethings are better to be safe than sorry. The least you can do is perhaps run a salinity check and phosphate check before the eventual dump. I was equally guilty of buying premixed seawater/NSW from some reputable LFSs before only to realise my corals went up the lorry because of the seawaters' salinity. It was really bad then because I lost alot of zoas! Alot of US/HK zoas to that so yeah, painful lesson :S So bro, advice is no matter how tired, do a check first (: If too tired, then change water tmr first thing in morning. So yeapp (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

Bro, Did you check your salinity before you change your water? and with what salt did you mix for this water change? Hope I can nail the problem for you (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

I supply abalones! Happy Reefing, Marc J.

YUMYUM! I am sure my buddy will not object to your selections! teehee (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

SO MANY?! ahaha. well bro, why not run the whole bucket of water through the RO/DI multiple times? Thought that should save money and also perhaps on your pocket in the long run? (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

hahaha, no need water heater bro. Just our normal Singapore temperature will get the effect alr (: and our ambient temperature is always "agar" around 26 degrees. but if you want faster, seriously, a higher temperature and nahh, won't kill the bacteria or animals inside. they can tahan the temperature. I still get bristleworms crawling out of my rocks after cooking. In US, they dump their rocks in their car garages and leave them there to rot and stuff. Imagine doing that in the summer heat! We shouldn't be too kind to our rocks which are laden with nutrients! Air pump is for aeration. Some rocks are porous in the inside yet looks thick on the outside. So idea is to provide ample oxygen to keep the bacteria within the rock healthy. Air pump is a secondary. Strong water circulation is primary and topmost priority! (: Anyway, our beloved Coralfarm has been employing this method of curing their Fiji liverocks long long time ago. The idea is the same and there's certainly no chiller etc around to keep the water temperature stable. They just let everything take its natural course. They also took it to a higher level of curing by sitting the rocks in the open air then spray water to the rocks, in a way the detrius/unwanted stuff will follow the water trail out of the rocks to the bottom of blue tub as silt. Impressive uh? I read about this in Chingchai's tank thread. Europeans have been doing this for years alr Hope you all understand what I am saying. I typed this in 3 mins! :S And sorry bro. dachkie. OFFTOPIC! :S back to your tank! Happy Reefing, Marc J.

What are you gonna do about it? (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

I'm glad to see my buddy's tank sitting in your house! Take good care of it eh! You will someday grow zoas like the way my buddy did! Happy Reefing, Marc J.

Yo bro! If you want fast cooking, leave the rocks in a higher temperature. I don't mean 100 degrees Celsius kind. I mean like 35-45 degrees kind. Something warm for the bacteria to get more active and they have a higher metabolism rate. Another way to put your tank in darkness is.... BUY those black plastic bags and cover your whole tank in it for months! haha. Quite an extreme way but I have seen reefers using that method to combat cyanobacteria Happy Reefing, Marc J.

yeahh... slowly getting down to it Happy Reefing, Marc J.

I don't know. But I will not go for Ice Cap T5. My friend in HongKong feedbacks to me that the reflectors are not as good as those by ATI. And thinking on the number of successful reefers using T5 to keep a full fledged sps or mixed tanks, most of them are running ATI. So if I were you, I will stick with ATI. If not, go for LEDs but that'll be for me a future upgrade when the market has stabilised in terms of price, quality and variety (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

Look at SunnyX's tank in SPS Keepers in RC for reference! haha. I am his loyal fan! Happy Reefing, Marc J.

nice nice! I am glad you found the thread! hahaha All the best with your "cooking" teehee (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.

Those were some really nice rics from CF! Happy Reefing, Marc J.

7 dkh sounds fine to me especially when your pH is fluctuating. So not surprising. but you're still good to go for corals and fishes (: Marc J.

Can I take your Sunkist and go "pai-nian"? hahaha Happy Reefing, Marc J.
