  1. WHY NOT? Must do island jumping then will know what kind of GF you want mah! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  2. I agree! Bumped into mine 18 months ago and never looked back. Probably because I see alot of bad girls already; falling in out of bad boyfriends and jerks so come to head that I should protect someone I love most. LOL But sometimes I guess it's more than reef chemistry to make things click! Pray that the click is not from a mantis! And alot of money! GF can be more expensive than Georg Fishcher pipings! :S HAHA Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  3. haha, you're welcome. Sometimes it's nice to share Anyway, AM now having promo. Time to up some nice geeky equipments to complement your tank. Like a Profilux + 2 x 6105? hahaha Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  4. oh, lets hope for the best bah! it's hard to tell whether the frags are coping anot unless they actually died on you then the reality hits you hard in the face :S but hope for the best for you bro! Actually flow matters. I have a hard time trying to keep my pocci alive with a hydor k1. I can see dead skeleton now and then, inside the core of the sps as well as underside of the sps where the flow didnt hit. However, the pocci looks okay so I left it alone. If not, the ultimate verdict should be death Easiest way to identify if your spses are doing well where they shld be is to see if the polyps will sway left-right-left-right or randomly. if got, then okay, if don't have. jialat must shift liao above is based on my observation of my sole sps in my nano. so yeahh, hth Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  5. nice spses! biting the bug? hahaha Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  6. Rise of the Giant again! hahaha Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  7. Be careful with Reef Booster. They work as well as Amino Acids but just be careful with the dosage especially with a nano. You do not wish to cause immense cyano outbreak due to that (: This goes the same for any Prodibio products. However, if you got nothing to lose from the start, Prodibio products are kind of like a good way to start things off on the right track. Been there done that and volia! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  8. well done bro! Hope to see you back soon! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  9. Looks cute! hahaha. Support you! $5 Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  10. Last saw some at Ah Beng. That was like last Oct. After that, seems very hard to find them :S Marc J.
  11. YOU WON THE BID BRO! Congrats! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  12. LOL! This one kinda looks wrong in the scape. HAHA Megan Fox and this = something wrong going in my head! :eyebrow: Anyway nice scape! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  13. If that's the case, then I suggest for you to stick it to a small rock first then bond it to the main rock. Especially for those 1-2 polyps zoa frags, go Irwana or CF and ask auntie for those unwanted sps skeletons. Wash them well and use them as frag plugs. then epoxy these "frag plugs" to your rocks. It will be much easier I hope (: Anyway, I think all epoxies are the same leh. Don't find them any difference around lehh... *hmm* Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  14. I got such impulse sometimes myself I think it's the oil from the epoxy. Somehow it's a chemical reaction between 2 putty as a result, causing an oily film to be produced. Suggestion is to mix the epoxy with plain FW and let it cure somehow outside of tank then quickly stick it on whatever you want to stick and hope it doesnt drop (: After which usually for me is to do a water change to remove the oily film and go to bed, cause too tired to continue anything for an old man like me Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  15. Suppose to be poisonous to be consumed lah, but heng we got something called skimmer to help out with the poisonous stuff and our diligience in water changes help to lower such levels in our captive marine environmment. so end of the day, not much detrimental effect on our livestocks luh, as such as we can still continue to stick our expensive sticks and dimes with super glue! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  16. I do not understand about the Tunze 9002; as in why is it not foaming when you use epoxy. By right skimmers should be foaming a helluva water and stuff when epoxy is curing underwater. That's what I notice on my Reef Octopus skimmer when it skimmed a red bucket full of plain whitish foamy seawater from my main tank :S As such, I never try to cure huge chunks of epoxy inside water. Scary experience :S But epoxy, I have never tried D&D epoxy so I cannot comment. I've tried Aquaz though. It works just as well as other epoxy putties around in the market. The price however, made me change to industrial/marine industry sorta epoxy. $9 per tube; works just as fine as Aquaz's. Toxic or not, I think it's relevant to one another, cause the chemicals used to make them I suppose should be the same. So far, no problem for my corals apart for my skimmer which foams non stop when I use epoxy on my frags/rockscape, AND that can be an ######! :S Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  17. OMG! Freaky! :S But how're things now? Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  18. HAHA, yeah, Fiji SPSes are pretty but sometimes I love Bali better Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  19. bro fuel, actually any surface skimmer will work with a hang on filter. From what I've found during the time when I was setting up my 1ft cube, there are various brands of surface skimmers in the market and most of them are catered to work with any form of pipings your HOB or external filter offers. I remember a brand including extra rubber pipes for you to fit the surface skimmer on any unfit HOB pipe! So no fret, should work out quite well for you (: Anyway surface skimmer has one limitation. the floater will jam when coralline encrusts on its inside. that's all Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  20. birdnest?! LOL How come you like the same things as I do? lol. except I don't like wrasses haha Maybe when walt smith comes in again, we can split one colony to share. I love those blunt birdnest tips I find them with sharper contrast Anyway for T5s, there's no exact guideline how far away from the water surface a T5 fixture should be because different tanks with different corals have different requirements. For myself, I practise 2" - 3" away from the water surface. After that, it all depends on how the corals respond. If the corals appear to be bleaching, I will move it down a step. If it's turning brown or a darker color, I'll move it up. Like my bro. Iantoh has said, it all depends on how your corals respond and hence the move (: Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  21. YAH! I agree! Thanks for the pic bro! Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  22. Sorry bro, what colour is your yuma? I see actinic splash all over it Happy Reefing, Marc J.
  23. Due to some issues which I shall not specified here, I'll like to let go some LRs at $10 (NO containers provided unless you can make do with a 3ft styrofoam box) Or, You can exchange my liverocks with coral frags. Just PM me with what you want to trade and I shall consider (: Sorry that there will be no pictures provided online because I am a lazy bum who is not trigger happy. If I am ever trigger happy, I will gladly have a gun; be it a German MP5 or a Russian made AK47 to shoot down the pilots who fly the aeroplanes <_< but if you can receive MMS, I'll be glad to take them for you (: PM me if interested. Happy Reefing, Marc J.
