Also, please remember to smell your rock before buying. It should smell quite much like the ocean (: However, if you get a stinky one, then forget it. Throw it back into the tub and pick a new one. Most likely, that rock has decayed from within (: Happy Reefing

Another advice: Throw in a LR dude. Why? Reason: You are currently using calcium carbonated dead rocks, aka limestones. They are good pH buffers, will definitely help in maintaining your carbonate hardness aka dkh in your tank for the future. However, they hold NO bacteria on them which is necessary to cycle your tank. Therefore, the LFS uncle told you to throw in a market prawn. Correct procedure, but slow process. The bacteria at least need more than 1 month to colonise fully on your liverocks. I doubt you can wait that long. So my advice is above. Go to any LFS (I recommend T95). Buy a LR from there. Can be of any size, shape or colour as long as it fits your tank and your wallet. Just 1 and throw it into your tank and leave it there forever until you decom. The LR will provide you all the necessary critters and bacterias needed as biological filtration for your tank and before long, you will see your white rocks turn brown, then green and hopefully abit purple. When you see that, you will know you are almost done (: Anyway, there is no time limit to how long a tank needs to be cycled. I have friends who own 5 and 6 feet tanks and they practically cycle their tanks for 2 years or more! The idea is take your time and don't rush. You can of course rush, but you have to be prepared to deal with the consequences later. As much as consequences go, there are 2 options: either your tank gets a terrible algae boom or whatever you put inside will die shortly. BUT, usually after the 2 options if either one occurs to you and you are not discouraged by the fact you have more work to do for the tank and you diligently go forth and rectify the problem and causes, your tank will come back stronger and better (: Happy Reefing

bro, you can use a Rio26 to power that toy too. Not necessary a rio20 although rio20 is a cheaper alternative (: but, I have to advise you that Rio HF pumps are running out in Singapore because from what I heard in the local "fish" market, the supplier gone bust and, about your tank aquascaping, I suggest is that you pay a trip to T95, get one huge rock and you are done for scaping. If not, try running pipes and cable ties to mix and match all your sparsely loose rocks together to make into a tower or something (: Cheers P.S: Do not worry about artistic sense. The current state is already looking great (:

epoxy damn easy to remove even when they are hard, so no worries on that (: if you want to stick mushies without using epoxy or glue, find a betta box (those small ones which pple use to breed guppies etc) put a flat or almost flat rock inside and leave it alone. sooner or later it will stick onto the rock. Likewise if you want to stick it at a specified place, use superglue bah. gel or liquid all the same, but just be patient with the coral and the glue because superglue on soft corals take a long time to cure (: and mushies, try not to put them in the direction of powerheads etc. surely will detach and fly. and mushies melt? hmm so far, I only seen once in my own tank, but that's because I was decomming so no light and foul water so the coral melted. otherwise what will happen to the musie like wad bro Reddevil said is it will bleach and become white. but won't die. just bleach (: Cheers (:

Feed your cleaner shrimp bro. It's hungry!! (:

hahaha that's true, so I am blasting it under my 150w MH. Just trying in the bid to return its colours and perhaps grow more (: Anyway bros and sisters, I am not trying to shoot anybody or anyone down. I am just sharing my views and remind everyone not to write any corals off the book. Anybody who feels sensitive or offended by my opinions, I sincerely apologise in advance (: Cheers

I happen to play with an Indo zoa. Very dirty but turned out to be a blue zoa with yellow center. Cheers (:
-
Actually I beg to differ on your statement bro. I sincerely believe that all zoas have potential to grow into something we least expect to, provided you give them enough light and flow and space to grow. Cheers (:

From a credible source, the above statement is true. So keep your eyes peeled when you go LFS-ing. (: and, nice catch too NF (: Cheers

WOW! Lovely to see this gene pool going around (: where did you find these pictures bro? (:
-
Bro, Tell me if your vinegar method can help remove the silicon marks. Cause I have some myself and have no wish to use thinner to remove (: Thanks and sweet tank! Cheers (:

Oh, really. I thought I saw yellow man. HMM, then I guess it's just me and my 'pa jiao' eyes luh but anyway, let's hope some LFS brings in more of such decent stocks, so we do not have to drool every night on our monitors over such pieces (: Happy Reefing

I think it is more of a genetic defect than a particular lineage of clownfishes. It is something alike blue lobsters, out of 4 million red lobsters, you can only find 1 blue lobster. So even if you have a pair of black onyx or snow flakes, I think it is quite difficult to replicate the youngs to look like mum and dad. Sounds traumatising for the parents, but perhaps that's God's will However, I am definitely interested if someone has found a way to produce a decent and stable lineage of such clownfishes. Will definitely be a breakthrough in the marine industry Cheers.

Sorry, I meant there were still pieces of that left in Irwana 3 days after the actual date of the shipment. Let's hope they bring more in the next round. Cheers

the 3rd piece (yellow center with red skirt) Irwana has them over the US shipment

Atlantic Tank Maker 62804447 You tell the lady there that Ah Boy recommended you to her. She will quote you better. I got my 18" by 20" by 14" tank with IOS and a hole drilled made by her. Pretty good, quality and standard all there. For your consideration: Good luck to your new tanks (:

According to my friends and my book, as long as your clam's mantle is opening and is reacting well when you switch off/on your lights, your clam's fine if not comfortable at the current position it is in. Any movement or frequent shift of it will cause it to stress and eventually die. I got this advice from my kahkis, Ian, Jun Kai and Nimrod and sincerely thank them for it as I am still a proud owner of 2 clams in a one feet cube. So fishiee dude, you are actually quite safe from the way the clam looks in your picture (: Keep it up, Marc

Hello dude, I think it's better if you get your wirings properly spliced and insulated. Cause the PVC tape cannot really tahan the heat generated by the electric current on a long run. Anytime it may catch fire... and... *censored*

CA quite low, but if you got no clams or spses inside, it shld be fine. A water change will return everything to fairly normal

I think not enough. sorry.
